We are looking for a Painter who wants to be part of our exciting journey and is truly engaged in being an advocate of and executing, best-in-class painting and property maintenance.</span><br></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-size: 12pt\">At Pier 4 we aspire to be the leaders in this space and at the same time we are grounded by years of expertise in property management, relationship-oriented business practices and a drive for continuous improvement.  We maintain our properties with a focus on revitalization to assure our residents feel comfortable in their homes.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-size: 12pt\"><br></span><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-size: 12pt\">The Painter, reports to the Property Manager and is accountable for painting and preserving the condition of properties.</span><span style=\"color: rgb(66, 66, 66); font-size: 12pt\"><span> </span>Our Painters are polite and professional. They can work independently and stay focused on a task for several hours at a time. They can also stay on their feet and do physical work for most of each day.</span><br><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-size: 12pt\">Responsibilities</span><br><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Preparing surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, sanding, and patching</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Applying paint on interior and exterior surfaces</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Removing old paint</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Filling holes and sealing corners</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><span>·         </span></span><span style=\"color: rgb(66, 66, 66); font-size: 12pt\">Protecting surfaces from water damage, mold, and other hazards through the use of primers and other coatings</span><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Moving ladders, paint cans, and other painting equipment</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Finding ways to reduce the costs of equipment and supplies</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Keeping work areas neat and clean</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(66, 66, 66); font-size: 12pt\">Checking inventory, and requesting paint and other supplies when needed</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Consulting with Property Managers and other Maintenance Technicians</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Providing general aesthetic maintenance</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Cleaning up job sites and disposing of waste materials properly</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-size: 12pt\">Own work vehicle</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Ability to follow and complete a daily, weekly &amp; monthly task schedule</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Basic understanding of all applicable laws, legislation and rights concerning residents/landlord relations.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Available for on-call duties, evenings and weekends. Hours may change based on operational needs.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-size: 12pt\">Willing to travel to/among various locations within Southwestern Ontario.</span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-size: 12pt\">Education, Experience and Qualifications</span><br><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Present self in a manner that demonstrates the Pier 4 values of Professionalism, Integrity, Excellence and Respect.</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-size: 12pt\">Proven relevant painting skills.</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-size: 12pt\">Experience in Commercial painting is required.</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-size: 12pt\">Comfortable working from heights i.e. exterior building painting and balconies</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-size: 12pt\">Experience painting different surfaces i.e. Line painting/exterior building painting</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-size: 12pt\">Knowledge and experience with exterior painting for low rise residential properties.</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-size: 12pt\">Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills required.</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-size: 12pt\">Ability to problem-solve, multi-task and remain detail-oriented.</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-size: 12pt\">Ability to work independently as well as within a team.</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-size: 12pt\">Ability to lift up to 50lbs.</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-size: 12pt\">Possess and maintain a valid Ontario G Driver’s license in good standing (clean driver’s abstract)</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-size: 12pt\">Eligible to work in Canada (will be subject to a criminal background check).</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-size: 12pt\">High School Diploma and 5+ years of work-related experience.</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-size: 12pt\">WHMIS training, knowledge of applicable legislation respecting residential tenancies in Ontario and the rights and obligations of Landlords and Tenants an asset.</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Good planning and organizational skills</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Knowledge of paint and how to use common painting tools</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Plenty of attention to detail</span></li>\n</ul>",
