This is a full-time permanent role supporting the Protected Distribution System (PDS) IT infrastructure program in Laurel, MD.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Assess existing PDS conduit pathways and make determinations to ensure they are compliant with current DoD requirements.</li>\n <li>Assess, identify, and collect IT infrastructure requirements (pathways, spaces, cable, power, cooling, etc...) to support existing and new PDS installation requests.</li>\n <li>Prepare floor plans, rack elevations, installation specifications, statement of work, budgetary cost estimates, schedules, and other design documents.</li>\n <li>Present and review designs with the team and your customers.</li>\n <li>Work with our Contracts, Plant Facilities, and onsite installation partners to implement your designs.</li>\n <li>Conduct pre-construction design reviews, quality control checks, and post-construction code compliance inspections.</li>\n <li>Coordinate the construction and implementation of telecommunications and technology systems that support our unclassified and classified network environments.</li>\n <li>Coordinate site surveys, schedules, security escorts, and inspections with our customers and operation partners.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with internal design team to identify projects to improve our infrastructure and services.</li>\n <li>Periodically coordinate and assist internal IT teams and staff with day-to-day operations as assigned or needed to complete projects you are directly leading.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>A Building Industry Consulting Services International (BICSI) Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD).</li>\n <li>Minimum of five years' experience designing, planning, implementing, and maintaining high-speed network cabling systems and IT facilities.</li>\n <li>Have 1-2 years of experience with Department of Defense (DoD) standards pertaining to the design and installation of IT infrastructure to support Protected Distribution Systems (PDS)</li>\n <li>Are knowledgeable in telecommunications/electrical/fire codes, and industry standards (ANSI/EIA/TIA, CNSSI, IEEE, NEC/NFPA, OSHA, and BICSI standards and guidelines).</li>\n <li>Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)</li>\n <li>Proficient with a computer-aided design / drawing package such as AutoCAD, Visio, Revit, or Geographical Information System (GIS).</li>\n <li>Able to identify and convey Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical, and Physical </li>\n <li>Can provide sample documentation of a past design project that you personally led during the interview.</li>\n <li>Are a highly motivated self-starter with good organizational and problem-solving skills.</li>\n <li>Are able to coordinate multiple projects and set priorities in order to meet schedules.</li>\n <li>Have great interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work with all levels of staff using tact and diplomacy.</li>\n <li>Have good written and verbal communication skills</li>\n <li>Capable of working effectively both independently and in team environments</li>\n <li>Are willing to work the occasional weekend and/or after hours as required to meet critical project/work-related business needs</li>\n <li>Capable of lifting 50-75lbs.</li>\n <li>Hold a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.</li>\n <li>Can support occasional travel to support remote field offices</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Special Skills (if applicable)</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be able to lift 40lbs, move equipment, rack and un-rack host/servers and network hardware.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u> </u></strong></p>\n<p><strong><u>Education / Certifications</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Associate or Bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines: Construction Management, Civil / Electrical / Telecommunications Engineering, or other IT related field</li>\n <li>AutoDesk certified in AutoCAD or Revit</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u> </u></strong></p>\n<p><strong><u>Work Authorization</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain Secret level security clearance</li>\n <li>If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u> </u></strong></p>\n<p><strong><u>Additional Perks/Benefits</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Paid Time Off & Holidays</li>\n <li>401K with Company Matching</li>\n <li>Tuition & Training Reimbursement</li>\n <li>Leadership Development Training</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Company Overview</h2>Vision Technologies, a national and global systems integrator, provides IT services and solutions for commercial and federal clients.
