At Embark Behavioral Health , we believe that food is more than nourishment—it’s a vital part of healing, connection, and care. We’re hiring a Cook to join our dedicated team in Bend, Oregon. Make a meaningful impact by preparing nutritious meals for youth ages 10–17 in our residential treatment program. About Us We are a residential treatment program supporting youth ages 10–17 who are navigating behavioral and mental health challenges. Our family-style residence fosters connection, growth, and healing. Food plays a vital role in that journey—and that’s where you come in. Responsibilities Prepare and serve nutritious, homemade meals, snacks, and desserts for 10–20 people daily, accommodating various dietary needs. Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen and dining area, including dishwashing duties. Follow all health department regulations for food prep, storage, and sanitation. Build positive relationships with clients and staff through kindness, consistency, and professionalism. Participate in mandatory trainings related to cooking, food safety, and behavioral health to support a safe and therapeutic environment. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age or older Must hold a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency Oregon Food Handler’s certification Current First Aid and CPR certification Must possess a valid State of Oregon driver's license, maintain a clean driving record, and be able to drive for work-related purposes Ability to pass a background check and drug screening Experience preparing healthy meals and accommodating dietary restrictions Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills Positive attitude, reliability, and ability to work independently and as part of a team Must be physically capable of performing essential job functions, including crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques. Training will be provided. Preferred Qualifications: 1+ year experience in a residential or institutional setting Experience cooking for groups of 15+ people Familiarity with youth care environments Benefits Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance – Multiple plan options including PPO and HDHPs with HSA eligibility and company contributions. Paid Parental Leave – Up to 6 weeks fully paid for exempt employees and 4 weeks for non-exempt.
