Job Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) provides culturally safe, client-centered home care, with a focus on cultural care planning, inclusion of traditional practices, and holistic support for First Nation, Métis and Inuit clients and families. The RN works collaboratively with clients, families, communities, and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure care respects cultural values, promotes wellness, and strengthens connections to community supports and traditional healing practices. The position works collaboratively with clients, families, communities, and interdisciplinary care teams to promote holistic health, dignity, and continuity of care.
Human Resources Exemption: No
Experience
Minimum of two (2) years recent related nursing experience is required
Education
Graduate from an approved School of Nursing
Current registration with CRNS and current BCLS certification
Licenses
Registered Nurse (RN)
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Other Education and Training
Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)
Knowledge and Abilities
Demonstrated independent nursing judgment in a community-based environment
Current clinical knowledge and skill are required in a broad range of areas.
Demonstrate communication skills to create positive outcomes/build relationships
Knowledge in nursing process
Ability to demonstrate appropriate level of professional conduct and judgement.
Ability to initiate and exercise critical thinking and decision-making
