Schedule: Wednesday 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Thursday-Friday 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Saturday 8 AM to 6:00 PM (44 hrs per week)

We deliver projects in partnership with organizations and local communities that share a desire for mutual success in developing capacity, creating employment, and delivering projects with schedule and cost certainty. We are looking for a Transfer Station Attendant/Operator to join our Arrow Environmental team in North Vancouver.
Under the direction of the Project Manager, the Transfer Station Site Attendant is responsible for monitoring the inbound streams of organics and clean wood waste delivered to the transfer station, as well as the preparation of materials for reloading to the processing facilities. The Transfer Station Site Attendant will ensure that materials are segregated appropriately and will operate machinery to organize material and maximize site efficiency. This individual will also assist with daily housekeeping of site and office to ensure the safety of the public and that environmental compliances are adhered to.
Responsibilities
Maintain site and ensure it remains free from daily clutter. Daily: tidy entire site with gas blower, hand tools, and skid steer sweeper
Operate heavy equipment (loader, excavator, skid-steer loader, shredder/transloader, and processing equipment) to segregate materials, process for shipment, and load outbound trucks
Communicate with dispatch regarding on site volumes to ensure inventory levels are compliant with transfer station maximums
Support inventory control (inbound/outbound/on ground) and accurately document load slips
Comply with all rules and regulations, protocols and established metrics
Follow all workplace safety policies, compliance regulations, and participate in identifying hazards
Perform daily routine equipment maintenance and documentation
Provide internal and external Customer Service excellence
May be asked to travel to other facilities if necessary
Ability to cross train on other functions at facility
Provide customer service, direct on-site traffic to specified disposal areas, and inspect loads for compliance
Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager
You Possess
Experience operating small wheel loaders and other related equipment is required
Must be flexible in shift scheduling and willing to work weekends and overtime
Good physical condition; able to carry at least 50 lbs
Experience with routine maintenance operations
Exceptionally high level of hand-eye coordination
Solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
Strong communication skills
Reliable transportation to and from facility locations
Ability to work outside in all weather conditions (snow, rain, sub-freezing temps, heat, wind)
Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
Mechanical inclination of equipment maintenance (mechanic, welder, machinist) is an asset
Experience working within a transfer station, aggregate facility, soil blending remediation environment or with biosolids is considered an asset
Experience working with computers is an asset
