    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The <strong>Head Counselor</strong> position is responsible for the supervisions of campers in a small group setting. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>This job announcement is not intended to be inclusive of all functions, responsibilities and qualifications associated with the position, however, representative of the essential job functions and typical criteria considered necessary to successfully perform the position.</em></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Responsible for the general safety and supervision of campers in assigned group as well as 4-6 staff members.</li>\n <li>Assist Unit Director in developing and implementing schedule changes, risk management procedures, special events, etc. </li>\n <li>Assist Activity Directors during activity periods on an as needed basis.</li>\n <li>Supervise and participate in all assigned aspects of the campers’ day which includes but is not limited to: Camper check-in and check-out; attendance; meal times; activities and extended am and extended pm duties as assigned. </li>\n <li>Attend and participate in two weeks of Leadership Staff Training and General Staff Training. </li>\n <li>Conduct at least one written performance review with staff during the summer.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>The incumbent must be 18 years of age or older </li>\n <li>Possess leadership skills that can assist in encouraging and motivating campers.</li>\n <li>Ability to teach songs, crafts, games, stories, sports, and related skills is preferred. </li>\n <li>Incumbent must show enthusiasm, dedication, responsibility and maturity</li>\n <li>Ability to interact and communicate clearly with campers, parents and staff. </li>\n <li>Bachelor’s of the Arts of Bachelor’s of Science in Recreation, Physical Education, Education or related field is preferred (or working toward degree).</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Benefits</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>YMCA Membership</li>\n <li>Discounted Programs</li>\n <li>12% Employer Retirement Contribution</li>\n <li>Paid Sick Time</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Posted Salary Range</h2>USD $300.00 - USD $425.00 /Wk.",
