Description
Wage: $70,000/Annually
Position Functions: Provides engaging instruction, administers tests, and evaluates student progress in understanding, and proficiency in assigned field of Career and Technical Training.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide students with industry-recognized instruction and training Develop and prepare lessons; recommend curricular changes and supplemental materials Administer and correct tests; log, and maintain progress and attendance Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs Manage the classroom by moving about the room to tutor, coach, evaluate, and assist each student as the need arises Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems, or study habits Evaluate and supervise students in an on-the-job training experience Participate in providing hands-on activities for students in the career preparation program Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee may perform other related duties as needed to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Skills & Competencies:
Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional strategies, classroom management and content field Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills Strong customer service skills High energy level and ability to engage students Ability to quickly learn job corps methodologies and strategies Ability to use different methods and mediums in delivering course materials Ability to effectively respond to students’ issues as they arise Must be proficient in the use of common computer software including Microsoft Office Suite
Educational Requirements & Experience:
Associates of Applied Science (AAS) Degree Licensed by the State of New York as a Registered Nurse Minimum of two years related experience with geriatrics Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
