The Receiving Associate position offers one of the best distribution/warehouse earning packages in the area.</p>\n<p><strong>Starting Pay: $18.00/HR&nbsp;(.50 more can be earned if cross trained in Order Pulling) with a&nbsp;$2/Hr Weekend Premium added on to your base pay rate.</strong></p>\n<p><strong>We pay every Friday.</strong></p>\n<p>40-80 hours of vacation annually</p>\n<p>2 personal days each year</p>\n<p>Company-provided training &amp; leadership development tracks for promotion opportunities.</p>\n<p>Gym facilities in most work locations</p>\n<p>Excellent benefits</p>\n<p><strong>Job Requirements</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to become certified in the operation of warehouse equipment.</li>\n <li>Ability to use trailer chocks.</li>\n <li>Ability to operate a fork lift, reach truck, and pallet jack for loading and unloading trailers/containers.</li>\n <li>Ability to operate and use a hand truck. &nbsp;</li>\n <li>Ability to perform the correct lifting and team lifting techniques.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Job Expectations:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Commitment to AFW’s safety policies and procedures and ability to promote awareness.</li>\n <li>Able to breakdown merchandise inside trailers/containers - unstack and position merchandise for removal from trailers/containers.</li>\n <li>Able to operate a radio frequency (RF) scanner.</li>\n <li>Able to safely operate load hoggs and dock plates.</li>\n <li>Accurately match packing list to vendor labels.</li>\n <li>Accurately load merchandise from the dock to trailers. Tie-in merchandise to trailers in a safe manner.</li>\n <li>Accurately identify merchandise by vendor label and apply matching AFW label to the merchandise when directed by the AFW management team.</li>\n <li>Able to sweep docks, trailers, and containers.</li>\n <li>Able to safely load merchandise onto pallets.</li>\n <li>Able to safely load and unload merchandise to and from pallets/skids.</li>\n <li>Ability to efficiently work independent of direct supervision.</li>\n <li>Able to have a flexible schedule and work all shifts, holidays, and weekends.</li>\n <li>Work as a team member by interacting and communicating with fellow associates in a cooperative, constructive manner.</li>\n <li>All training provided by AFW.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Requires the ability to maneuver in confined and at times congested areas.</li>\n <li>Requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, &amp; bend for 8 hours or more daily.</li>\n <li>Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.</li>\n <li>Requires lift, lower, push and pull all sizes of merchandise up to 100 lbs. frequently and ability to handle/manipulate up to 250 lbs. frequently.</li>\n <li>The Receiving position requires lifting, gripping, bending, kneeling, stooping and moving merchandise 8 hours or more daily.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Work Environment:</strong></p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Fluorescent Lighting</li>\n <li>Concrete Flooring</li>\n <li>Climate effected by outside conditions</li>\n <li>Considerable exterior noise</li>\n <li>Extreme temperature fluctuations in warehouse</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>A pre-employment drug screen and pre-employment background check must be passed upon job offer.</p>\n<p>American Furniture Warehouse provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.</p>",
