Our team approach to education creates a collaborative, supportive and open environment within our community. <strong>We are currently seeking a MIDDLE SCHOOL HEAD TEACHER, MODERATE SPECIAL NEEDS for our program in Walpole.&nbsp;</strong>Annual salary range is $68,000 to $78,000 depending on degree, license, and certification status.<em>&nbsp;</em>Candidates with required teaching certification at the time of offer will be eligible for a $5,000 signing bonus to be paid out within 6 months of hire. League School will help obtain required licensure for qualified candidates.<em><br><br></em><p>The program educates students with autism and related social communication challenges. The curriculum is based on the MA Curriculum Frameworks/Common Core Standards and modified to meet student needs. All classrooms are designed around student age, grade level and social communication needs, and are no larger than 8 students per classroom.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Position Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Special Education with current MA license in MODERATE Special Needs, and experience with Autistic Individuals preferred. <em>Proof of MA DESE licensure required but will help obtain licensure if needed.</em></li><li>Safety Care, CPR, and First Aid certifications. <em>(League School will provide training).</em></li><li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license.</li><li>Must pass rigorous background checks, including nationwide fingerprint screening.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Supervision Received: &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</strong>Education Coordinator</p><p><strong>Supervision Exercised: &nbsp; &nbsp;</strong>Teacher(s), Job Coach, Student Teacher(s)</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities</strong> <strong>include the following:</strong></p><ol start=\"1\" type=\"1\"><li>Collaborates with team to develop Individual Education Programs within the classroom/school and community settings. Utilizes internet-based ESPED program in conjunction with team to write IEPs.</li><li>Collaborates in the development of behavioral intervention plans, sensory diets, social pragmatic programming, and daily living-skill techniques for individual students as part of multidisciplinary team.</li><li>Collects and records data regarding student performance in all skill areas as directed by team, Education Coordinator, and/or Director of Clinical Services. &nbsp;Analyzes data to measure student progress throughout the year.</li><li>Consistently implements, or monitors implementation of, all components of treatment programs, including all accommodations and services outlined in students&rsquo; IEPs and BIPs.</li><li>Develops a therapeutic and effective relationship with students: &nbsp;uses appropriate voice modulation, sets reasonable boundaries with communication and actions, etc.</li><li>Implements individual and group behavior programs: &nbsp;positive reinforcement, breaks, time outs, etc., as designed by Behavior Specialists and the team.</li><li>Provides curriculum content based on the Massachusetts Frameworks to implement each student&rsquo;s goals and objectives, as written in his/her Individual Education Program. &nbsp;Records curriculum implemented on Curriculum Mapper program.</li><li>Attends and facilitates classroom team meetings and classroom conferences.</li><li>Attends annual IEP reviews, 3-year re-evaluations, supervision, staff meetings, intake meetings, and other meetings as directed by Program Leader or administrators.&nbsp;</li><li>Completes formal assessments and necessary data collection to track student progress.</li><li>Completes written reports: &nbsp;Quarterly Progress Reports, Individual Education Programs, Re-evaluation Reports, and assessment materials deemed necessary by the team and clinical department.</li><li>Has lesson plans prepared and ready for review that are appropriate for all students in the classroom.</li><li>Develops and executes a classroom and school schedule that provides structure, consistency, predictability.</li><li>Completes all necessary MCAS assessment requirements for students in his/her classroom.</li><li>Performs other related duties, as designated by the Assistant Director of Education/Director of Education, which are deemed necessary for the operation of the school.</li></ol><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Computer Skills:</strong></p><p>To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Google Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Drive, etc.), Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Edge.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Benefits:</strong></p><p>League School offers a substantial benefit package that includes 75% employer paid health and dental, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, tuition assistance of up to $5,000 per school year, 403(b) retirement plan with employer match, professional development opportunities, as well as paid Sick and Personal days in addition to school vacation weeks off.
