    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Wednesday-Friday, 3pm-11pm; Saturday & Sunday 11pm-7am. </p>\n<p>New London Hospital Campus. </p>\n<p>Evening shift differential: 10% </p>\n<p>Night shift differential: 20%</p>\n<p>Weekend shift differential: 15%</p>\n<p>DH benefits start the first day of employment. </p> \n<p>Responsible for the safety and well-being of patients, visitors, staff, facilities and hospital property</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<li> Patrols all areas of their assigned facility looking for illegal/inappropriate activity and security/safety concerns. Proactively provides information, assistance and guidance to patients, visitors, and staff.</li> \n<li> Conducts internal and external rounds/patrols to ensure the safety and security of the facility, property, and occupants. </li> \n<li> Responds to, and investigates security incidents. Ensures all incidents and activities are appropriately documented and recorded.</li> \n<li> Assists nursing units, clinical care areas, and other departments with uncooperative, combative or violent patients and visitors. Effectively de-escalates situations and uses the appropriate AVADE techniques.</li> \n<li> Provides patient watch activities to prevent elopement or injury to self/others.</li> \n<li> At the direction of the medical staff, applies restraints. Contacts local law enforcement as situation warrants.</li> \n<li> Deals with custody disputes and/or domestic disturbances occurring on campus.</li> \n<li> Conducts patient and visitor searches when required and conducts room and belonging searching as needed.</li> \n<li> Responds to emergencies and code calls. Performs CPR, to include the use of AED’s. For medical incidents outside the building, contacts the local fire department for ambulance response.</li> \n<li> Monitors all parking lots for compliance with facility parking regulations. Tickets unauthorized parked cars. Observe and follow up on safety hazards in parking areas. Provide vehicle assistance services.</li> \n<li> Enforces company policies as directed by a supervisor.</li> \n<li> Assists with parking space and utilization. Rearranges parking barricades to meet organizational needs and special events. Assists parking officers with parking control and assistance.</li> \n<li> Assists DHART with helicopter arrivals and departures. Releases deceased patients and accepts incoming deceased patients.</li> \n<li> Completes all required/requested forms, reports and documents.</li> \n<li> Completes assigned secondary duties</li> \n<li> Responds to duress alarms, calls for service, and other emergency situations.</li> \n<li> Performs other duties as required or assigned.</li>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li> High school graduate required. </li> \n <li> Two years of related experience preferred. </li> \n <li> Direct security experience highly preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required Licensure/Certifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li> Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required in accordance with D-H’s Driver Disqualifications Guidelines.</li> \n <li> Must maintain Taser, Handcuff, and Pepper Gel certification.</li> \n <li> Must complete all required training and pass minimal physical requirements within 90 days from date of hire and as required thereafter.</li> \n <li> Must obtain IAHSS Basic Security Officer Certification within 6 months of hire.</li>\n</ul>",
