Apply now and energize your career with a true leader in the global energy transformation.</p><p></p><p><br />US Renewables &amp; Power is currently seeking an Associate Developer to lead project development within the Eastern Wind Development region.<br /><br />The successful candidate will support project development for wind projects located in NYISO and PJM service areas. Key responsibilities include oversight and coordination of site identification and prospecting, land acquisition, project permitting, site studies, interconnection, engineering, pre-construction and overall due diligence, development of budget and scheduling, due diligence review of potential project acquisitions and ensuring projects successfully reach construction commencement. The Associate Developer must collaborate closely with lead project developers and SME teams to understand all development activities, build project consensus and execute project strategy. Additionally, the Associate Developer will manage external stakeholders and internal partners, and presents AES’s position clearly in both internal and external meetings, showing full ownership of outcomes. While the Associate Developer may not directly lead each development activity, it is critical that the candidate strives toward a deep understanding of these activities and the interplay between each to guarantee successful project delivery.<br /><br />This position will reside within US Renewables &amp; Power’s project development group and will work in close collaboration with multiple cross-functional teams. The position may be hybrid based, but there is a strong preference for this team member to be located near AES’ New York, NY or Louisville, CO office.<br /><br />The role requires the ability to work on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, and requires travel as needed. The successful candidate will work on a cross-functional team including growth strategy, land acquisition, permitting, real estate, external affairs, stakeholder relations, legal, finance, engineering, interconnection, construction, external consultants, landowners, local officials, customers, and other project stakeholders.<br /><br /><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Own day‑to‑day landowner relationships across eastern wind development projects, particularly in New York.</li><li>Serve as a primary point of contact for landowners, responsible for maintaining trust, responsiveness, and continuity throughout development.</li><li>Lead and execute lease negotiations, extensions, and amendments, in coordination with land, legal, and project leadership.</li><li>Develop and deliver consistent, professional project status updates for landowners and local stakeholders.</li><li>Independently manage landowner communications, track commitments, and resolve routine issues while escalating higher‑risk matters as appropriate.</li></ul><ul><li>Coordinate landowner meetings, site visits, and outreach efforts, representing AES professionally in external engagements.</li><li> Maintain ownership of defined development workstreams, with responsibility for advancing tasks from assignment through completion.</li><li> Support development activities including environmental studies, surveys, permitting coordination, real estate diligence, and documentation.</li><li> Track and manage development schedules, milestones, and risks within assigned scopes.</li><li>Coordinate with internal teams including land acquisition, permitting, real estate, interconnection, engineering, external affairs, finance, and legal.</li><li>Participate actively in internal and external project meetings, contributing to problem solving and execution strategy.</li><li>Support internal reporting, pipeline tracking, and project documentation with accuracy and accountability.</li></ul><p><b>Skills and Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>Ideally 2-4 years of project development experience in renewable energy development, real estate development, infrastructure, or a closely related field.</li><li>Bachelor’s degree, preferably in renewable energy, urban planning, logistics, finance, business, engineering, project/construction management or related field.</li><li>Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience working directly with landowners, external stakeholders, or similarly relationship‑driven counterparts.</li><li>Knowledge of renewable energy technologies, project development, utilities, interconnection, permitting, and real estate.</li><li>Self-starter, very self-reliant and capable of operating with minimum supervision.</li><li>Willingness and ability to travel 30% on average but more as required by projects.</li></ul><p>Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.</p><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p>AES is an Equal Opportunity Employer who is committed to building strength and delivering long-term sustainability through diversity and inclusion.
