    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">SEASONAL CAMPUS WORKERS – MAINTENANCE &amp; GROUNDS</span></p>\n<p>Shawnigan Lake School is looking to boost our maintenance and grounds teams with Seasonal Campus Workers (opportunities from April/May 2026 through August 2026) to assist in a variety of areas of our School campus. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Duties could include:</span></p>\n<p>·         Painting</p>\n<p>·         Construction and carpentry</p>\n<p>·         Facilities maintenance</p>\n<p>·         Furniture moves and furniture assembly</p>\n<p>·         Mechanical work</p>\n<p>·         Mowing and weed eating</p>\n<p>·         Watering, weeding and garden clean up</p>\n<p>·         Other maintenance and grounds-related tasks</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">We are looking for team members with the following:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Aged 16 or older</li>\n<li>Availability to work full-time over the summer (preferred), with flexibility to work varied work schedule and hours</li>\n<li>Energetic with a willingness to take on new tasks and learn new skills</li>\n<li>Team players</li>\n<li>Creative problem solvers with adaptable mindsets</li>\n<li>Leadership skills</li>\n<li>Able to work in variable climate conditions, indoors and outdoors, with and around various machinery</li>\n<li>Experienced in the use of hand tools, electric tools, hand carts &amp; furniture dollys (preferred)</li>\n<li>Experienced in use of landscaping equipment, including lawn mowers, weed eaters, power washer etc. (preferred)</li>\n<li>Class 5 BC Driver’s License (an asset)</li>\n<li>WHMIS certification (an asset)</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Wage: $18.63 to $21.74 per hour (depending on experience, qualifications and internal parity)</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">HOW TO APPLY</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Please apply with your resume and a brief covering letter indicating your availability from April/May through August (part-time, full-time, planned vacations etc.).  Priority will be given to those with relevant experience and who are available to work full-time from May through August.</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Shawnigan Lake School is an equal opportunity employer committed to establishing an inclusive, equitable, and accessible environment for all.
