Description

Title: Student Tech Assistant Unit: Nuclear Medicine Hours: Varied Status: PRN Facility: MVH Position Summary: Assists Medical Imaging staff with various procedures necessary to the operational efficiency of the department. Assists with image processing, image management, and patient care. Carries out duties as directed by various Medical Imaging staff in the assigned area. Is knowledgeable in the daily activities of Medical Imaging and provides patients with the utmost quality of care. May perform procedures in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs. Essential Duties & Functions: 1. Obtains clinical history and data for correlation with the Medical Imaging procedure. 2. Implements screening and safety measures in accordance with prescribed safety standards. 3. Assists technologists and nurses in procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations. 4. Coordinates patient care with other areas in order to optimize patient time and satisfaction 5. Maintains knowledge of the locations and operation of all emergency equipment in the unit. 6. Follows radiation safety policies and procedures.
