    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">CLEANER - TEMPORARY FULL TIME 2 MONTH CONTACT (JUNE-AUGUST)</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Title:</span> Cleaner (Permanent) Full Time</span><br><span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Hours of work: </span>Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Salary: </span>$23.58/hr</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Summary</span></p>\n<p><span>The Cleaner is responsible for performing building cleaning and other duties to ensure that buildings and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary manner.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities/Duties </span></p>\n<p><span>To work from a holistic perspective, utilizing the teachings of the medicine wheel and Seven Grandfather teachings.</span></p>\n<p><span>To utilize Elders for teachings, healing and guidance.</span></p>\n<p><span>To take personal responsibility to increase sensitivity, awareness and implementation of Beendigen’s cultural teachings and organizational practices in both professional conduct and work-related deliverables.</span></p>\n<p><span>To </span><span>complete and maintain related records.</span></p>\n<p><span>To maintain overall cleanliness of buildings.</span></p>\n<p><span>To clean offices, showers, bathrooms, and common areas.</span></p>\n<p><span>To sweep, mop and vacuum all floor areas.</span></p>\n<p><span>To dust all furniture, fixtures and equipment.</span></p>\n<p><span>To wash and disinfect all washroom floors, toilets, toilet seats, hand dryers and fixtures in the washrooms and showers.</span></p>\n<p><span>To replenish all cleaning supplies in building including but not limited to: paper towel, soap, multi purpose sanitizing spray, and hand sanitizer. </span></p>\n<p><span>To clean windows, empty all waste baskets, garbage cans, shredders and recycling bins.</span></p>\n<p><span>To clean and remove litter/garbage from external areas such as entranceways, sidewalks, and parking lots using appropriate equipment.</span></p>\n<p><span>To place all garbage and recycling in the outside storage area and maintain the area.</span></p>\n<p><span>To ensure all designated outdoor smoking areas are clean and litter free.</span></p>\n<p><span>To use appropriate safety equipment at all times.</span></p>\n<p><span>To maintain covid standards of cleaning and recommendations and to include high touch areas</span></p>\n<p><span>To ensure cleaning materials and supplies are stored in a safe and orderly manner.</span></p>\n<p><span>To works in cooperation with other staff and contractors to correct safety deficiencies.</span></p>\n<p><span>To </span><span>ensure building and equipment meet all safety, security and fire regulations and policies.</span></p>\n<p><span>To operate a motor vehicle to pick up and move goods and supplies.</span></p>\n<p><span>To constructively participate in all team meetings, seminars and staff training sessions as required.</span></p>\n<p><span>To ensure Health and Safety compliance in the workplace by following policies, procedures and best practices and reporting any unsafe environments.</span></p>\n<p><span>To follow confidential handling of client information as dictated by Privacy Legislation.</span></p>\n<p><span>To adhere to program best practices and policies and procedures.</span></p>\n<p><span>To be prepared to work in conjunction with the philosophy and mandate of the o</span><span>rganization.</span></p>\n<p><span>To preserve confidentiality of all residents, clients, staff, students, volunteers and agency information.</span></p>\n<p><span>To represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.</span></p>\n<p><span>Any other duties as requested by the Operations Manager; commensurate with role.</span></p>\n<p><span>The above statements are the general functions of the position and should not be interpreted as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may pertain to the job.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Selection Criteria</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Required:</span></p>\n<p><span>Successful completion of a high school diploma or GED.</span></p>\n<p><span>Minimum of 1 year Janitor/ cleaner work experience.</span></p>\n<p><span>Demonstrated experience in residential and commercial cleaning setting.</span></p>\n<p><span>Demonstrated understanding of the Violence Against Women sector.</span></p>\n<p><span>Knowledge of Indigenous culture, tradition, language, and Indigenous community.</span></p>\n<p><span>Conscientious, organized and attention to detail.</span></p>\n<p><span>Willingness to wear personal protective apparel (mask, gloves, etc.).</span></p>\n<p><span>Ability to adhere to the site safety policies, confidentiality and dress code.</span></p>\n<p><span>Ontario Class G Driver’s License, use of an automobile, and appropriate insurance coverage.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Preferred:</span></p>\n<p><span>Experience working in an Indigenous organization.</span></p>\n<p><span>Ability to speak Ojibway, Oji-Cree or Cree.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</span></p>\n<p><span>Knowledge of a variety of cleaning supplies and cleaning equipment that adhere to a scent free workspace.</span></p>\n<p><span>Hard-worker with high attention to detail and have a strong work ethic.</span></p>\n<p><span>Strong customer service and excellent communication/interpersonal skills.</span></p>\n<p><span>Suitability to work in an Indigenous congregate living setting.</span></p>\n<p><span>Ability to adhere to the site safety policies, confidentiality, and dress code.</span></p>\n<p><span>Friendly personality and a genuine interest in helping others.</span><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Working Conditions</span></p>\n<p><span>The Cleaner is based at the Ontario Street Location;
