Schedule is dictated by the surgery schedule that that requires flexibility to meet the needs of the department and patients.The position reports to the Director of Perioperative Services.&nbsp;</p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><br></p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li style=\"text-align: left;\">Certification by the National Association of Surgical Technician&rsquo;s required</li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">Completed an accredited surgical technologist program required</li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">1 year surgical technician experience preferred.</li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">Current BLS certification required.</li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">Responsible to take call and must live within a 45-minute response time.</li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">Must be able to maintain ongoing compliance and/or education related to the Surgical Technician Field.</li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">2-4 years on orthopedics/robotic orthopedics, OBGYN, general surgical and urology preferred.</li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">Certified first assistant training completed by an approved program.</li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">Must be flexible, dependable, team oriented, and have excellent communication skills.</li></ul><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Skill and Ability:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li style=\"text-align: left;\">Co-responsibility with the registered professional nurse for correct counts of instruments, sponges, needles, and sharps.</li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">Responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of the identification and labeling of medications on the sterile field.</li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">Sets up the sterile field back table and Mayco stand with instruments, supplies, equipment and labeling medications/solutions needed for the procedure.</li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">Knowledge and practice of correct positioning of patients.</li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">Knowledge and practice of safety in transporting of patients.</li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">Knowledge and responsibility for correct instrumentation according to size and/or age of patient.</li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">Knowledge and responsibility for correct prostheses for each procedure.</li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">Assists the team members with gowning, gloving, and draping the patient</li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">Participates in the surgical site and patient verification during the timeout procedure.</li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">Able to meet the physical demands of the position.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">Ability to participate in current and future training programs in order to learn new functions necessary for the OR to provide new and improved services.</li></ul></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>\n",
