You can learn and grow at a company that provides competitive compensation and meaningful benefits – and the people are second to none.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What will the work look like for me?</strong></p>\n<p>We’re seeking a visionary Director of Software Portfolio Strategy to shape the future of our software business and lead platform strategy across software, control systems, and SaaS offerings.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>In this role, you will drive portfolio direction, roadmaps, and investment priorities to accelerate growth and build scalable platforms that deliver customer value.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Working across Product Management, Engineering, Software Business Development, Sales, Services, and Finance, you will connect strategy and execution to drive innovation, alignment, and results.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Software Portfolio Strategy Ownership</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Set the software portfolio vision and roadmap.</li>\n <li>Prioritize products, platforms, and partnerships that drive growth.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Platform Strategy & Shared Services Alignment</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Define the shared cloud platform strategy.</li>\n <li>Build scalable, reusable shared services for SaaS growth.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Cloud–Edge Strategy Definition</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Define the cloud-edge strategy for scale and resilience.</li>\n <li>Partner with Engineering and Architecture on hybrid solutions.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Customer, Market, & Strategic Input</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Turn customer and market insight into strategy.</li>\n <li>Shape roadmap decisions with Product Management.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>SaaS & Business Model Strategy (Influence)</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Influence SaaS packaging, pricing, and growth strategy.</li>\n <li>Identify growth opportunities across the software lifecycle.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Investment Prioritization & Governance</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Lead portfolio governance and investment prioritization.</li>\n <li>Guide investment decisions across the portfolio lifecycle.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Cross-Functional Alignment & Leadership</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Lead cross-functional alignment across key teams.</li>\n <li>Help shape executive decisions on strategy and priorities.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Where is this opportunity located? </strong></p>\n<p>Position has opportunity to work from a U.S. based home office. This position is open to candidates eligible to work in the U.S.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What are the pay and perks?</strong></p>\n<p>The typical hiring range for this position is $180,000 to $210,000 annually. This information is intended to be a general overview and may be modified by Daktronics at any time.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>To be considered for the Director of Software Portfolio Strategy, we require the following:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering or Business. </li>\n <li>10–15+ years of experience in software strategy or portfolio leadership.</li>\n <li>Strong experience with multi-product software portfolios and platform-based architectures. </li>\n <li>Proven understanding of:\n  <ul>\n   <li>SaaS and cloud transformation.</li>\n   <li>Platform strategy and shared service models.</li>\n   <li>Product vs platform tradeoffs.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to influence and align across Engineering, Product, and Commercial teams.</li>\n <li>Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable priorities.</li>\n <li>Preferred Experiences: \n  <ul>\n   <li>Experience in hybrid cloud + edge environments (e.g., IoT, industrial systems, distributed control environments).</li>\n   <li>Familiarity with:\n    <ul>\n     <li>Data platforms, telemetry systems, or device ecosystems.</li>\n     <li>Large installed hardware/software customer bases.</li>\n    </ul></li>\n   <li>Experience modernizing legacy software portfolios into unified platforms.</li>\n   <li>Exposure to SaaS transitions or recurring revenue business models.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>The selected individual must be able to travel by air and ground and comply with the Daktronics Driver Eligibility Policy to begin and maintain employment. This requirement will be verified through a motor vehicle record (MVR) check conducted in accordance with applicable federal, state, provincial, and local laws.\n  <ul>\n   <li>Ability to travel domestically or internationally, up to a week at a time to customer sites, installations, vendors, conventions, company headquarters, etc.</li>\n   <li>Anticipated travel frequency is 6-12 trips per year or as needed.
