Description Job Summary Under the supervision and guidance of the Principal Investigator and Clinical Research Supervisor at the UCSF Memory and Aging Center (MAC) RabLab the Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator (ACRC) will serve as a liaison between PET Program staff, researchers, other research collaborators and clinicians from the MAC, and research participants by performing entry-level duties related to the support and coordination of single- and multi-site clinical trials and observational studies in the field of neurodegenerative disease. Duties include assisting with the preparation and sharing of clinical and imaging results at multi-disciplinary clinical meetings and with participants and their families or caregivers; assisting with data visualization tasks (tables, figures, graphs) for presentations, manuscripts and grant applications; maintaining the database of imaging studies and results; triaging data requests and preparing data and protocols for collaborators and human research committees. Additional administrative tasks may be assigned as needed to help design flow sheets, data forms, and other types of source documents. The ACRC is not required to have specialized training to perform these duties and candidate will be trained on-the-job to meet the responsibilities of the position. They will also be called on to abstract data from other data sources to be used for screening into other projects with collaborators. 10% Yes Performing initial triage of study acquired brain image files regarding the quality of the characteristics and processing (e.g. detecting blurring/movement in scans and correct alignment). 10% Yes Performing basic data analyses under guidance of the PI or clinical supervisor. May organize and process multimodal neuroimaging data using established pipelines. 5% Yes Preparing data and protocols for human research committees or other collaborators. 5% Yes Submit regulatory documents for data use and sharing agreements. Qualifications Required Qualifications: HS graduation and sufficient experience and demonstrated skills to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities. Demonstrated interest in cognitive neuroscience or neurodegenerative disease (as shown by coursework or previous work/volunteer experience). Ability to work well independently and as part of multiple teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work flexibly and effectively in a fast-paced environment to meet project goals and deadlines. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related area and/or sufficient experience and demonstrated skills to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities. Basic knowledge of neurobiology and brain anatomy. Previous experience with data management. Excellent written and interpersonal communication when drafting study documents and engaging with colleagues, participants, and their families. Experience working closely with patients and their families, particularly within the geriatric population. Knowledge of IRB protocols, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Familiarity with medical terminology.
