Description

Company Overview Shriners Children’s is an organization that respects, supports, and values each other. We are engaged in providing excellence in patient care, embracing multi-disciplinary education, and research with global impact. We foster a learning environment that values evidenced based practice, experience, innovation, and critical thinking. Our compassion, integrity, accountability, and resilience define us as leaders in pediatric specialty care for our children and their families. All employees are eligible for medical, dental and vision coverage on their first day! In addition, upon hire all employees are eligible for a 403(b) and Roth 403 (b) Retirement Saving Plan with matching contributions of up to 6% after one year of service. Employees in a full-time or part-time status (40+ hours per pay period) will also be eligible for paid time off, life insurance, short term and long-term disability and the Flexible Spending Account (FSA) plans. Additional benefits available to full-time and part-time employees include tuition reimbursement, home & auto, hospitalization, critical illness, pet insurance and much more! Coverage is available to employees and their qualified dependents in accordance with the plans. Benefits may vary based on state law. Job Overview Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. The Physical Therapist position provides evaluation and therapy services, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transition of care, in an efficient, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner upon licensed independent practitioner referral. We have an opportunity for a Part Time Physical Therapist to join our Rehab team. This is a exempt and benefits eligible position. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity. Responsibilities The ideal candidate for this role is a well-rounded pediatric physical therapist who enjoys working with both orthopedic and developmental populations in a collaborative, specialty care environment. You’ll be most successful in this role if you bring the following: Pediatric orthopedic expertise You have experience managing post-operative pediatric patients, including cases such as ACL reconstruction, periacetabular osteotomy (PAO), tibial derotational osteotomy, and other complex lower extremity surgeries. Outpatient pediatric experience You are comfortable practicing in an outpatient setting and have worked with children in a clinical and play-based (not solely school-based) environment. Versatility across orthopedic and developmental care You enjoy treating a diverse caseload—ranging from post-surgical rehab to children with gait abnormalities, toe walking, hip dysplasia, back pain, and motor delays. Experience with mobility equipment and assistive technology You have evaluated or are eager to evaluate pediatric patients for wheelchairs, gait trainers, standers, strollers, and other adaptive equipment. Collaboration with DME vendors You understand how to partner with equipment vendors to ensure appropriate selection, justification, and procurement of mobility devices. Integration of prosthetics and orthotics You are comfortable working alongside prosthetists and orthotists and incorporating bracing or prosthetic considerations into your treatment plans. Team-oriented mindset You value interdisciplinary care and actively collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, therapists, and other providers to achieve the best outcomes. Pediatric-focused clinical reasoning You can adapt orthopedic rehabilitation principles to meet the unique needs of growing children and adolescents. Family-centered approach You engage patients and caregivers effectively, using developmentally appropriate strategies to support progress and carryover outside the clinic. Confidence managing a complex caseload You are an independent clinician who can balance a varied caseload and thrives in a specialty pediatric orthopedic setting. This is not an all inclusive list of this job's responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. Qualifications Required Licensed in WA Basic Life Support (BLS) Preferred 1 year experience in Physical Therapy
