This position is a member of our Air Monitoring Division.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Install, operate, maintain, and repair complex air monitoring instruments to the component level.
Provide consultation and technical support for site operators on equipment troubleshooting and repair.
Assemble and deploy air monitoring equipment and air monitoring sites.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with electronics and/or electronic test equipment and tools
Experience troubleshooting and maintaining electronic and mechanical instruments
Experience interpreting schematic diagrams and/or technical reference material
Experience providing customer service in a work setting

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Graduation from high school or GED certificate plus four years of full-time experience directly related to the examples of work performed. One year (30 semester hours) of accredited college work which included six semester hours in mathematics, or natural or physical science may be substituted for each year of required experience.
OR
Graduation from a licensed vocational, technical, or business school with a certificate of completion in the areas directly related to the examples of work performed plus two years of full-time experience directly related to the examples of work performed.
OR
A certificate of completion in areas directly related to the examples of work performed from a military technical training program plus three years of fulltime experience directly related to the examples of work performed.
Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. See Tex. Business & Commerce Code Section 117.001(2). Accordingly, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a requirement to be hired for and to continue to be employed with TCEQ.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES
This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Electronics Technician II state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Electronics Technician II series.
Work Schedule
Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ Austin Headquarters Office.
