Nielsen College of Business at Charleston Southern University invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Economics position beginning August 1, 2026. Charleston Southern University seeks candidates for faculty positions who are professing Christians and who are committed to excellence in teaching and service. They should support the goals of a strong liberal arts education and be willing to explore with students the integration of faith and learning. Work Performed The teaching load will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in a traditional format and may include teaching graduate courses in an online format.  Faculty members are also called upon to participate in academic advising, serve on committees, engage in college and university service, plus scholarly activities in their field.  The successful candidate will be committed to integrating the Christian faith into his or her teaching and scholarly activities and advancing the Christian mission of the University. Qualifications Qualifications An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in the field of economics from a regionally accredited, non-profit institution or ABD status with strong likelihood of finishing a doctoral program within 6 months of hire. Candidates should have teaching and research capability in one or more areas of Economics, Statistics and Finance.  Teaching responsibilities may include Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, Money and Banking, and Business Analytics/Statistics. We will give preference to qualified candidates who also have prior teaching experience with demonstrated effectiveness in undergraduate and graduate instruction.
