The Manager of Positive Learning Environment (SDLE) plays a vital role in shaping and maintaining a safe, inclusive, respectful, and professional learning environment for all students at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. This role will serve as a key institutional leader in monitoring and enhancing the learning environment across all educational phases and will actively collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to support student success and wellbeing.

Responsibilities
A day in the life of a Manager of Positive Learning Environment (SDLE) at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
Oversee all student mistreatment reporting, response, and resolution processes, ensuring concerns are handled promptly, equitably, and in alignment with institutional values and accreditation standards.
Use institutional platforms to track, analyze, and report on trends in learning environment and mistreatment data, recommending system-level improvements as needed.
Regularly travel to affiliated clinical sites to meet with clerkship students, gather feedback, assess site-specific learning environment concerns, and provide in-person support.
Serve as a visible and approachable presence across all sites to promote open communication.
Present educational materials related to a positive learning environment and grievance procedures to various learner and faculty audiences.
Collaborate with various departments to design and deliver learning environment-focused development sessions for faculty, residents, and staff.
Supervises the Title IX program.
Manages and leads the Title IX team as well as others.
Makes or approves hiring and termination decisions.
Acts as a team leader/advisor and provides performance feedback.
Councils, guides, and mentors staff, ensuring that all achieve fullest potential and that the work product meets the standards for quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
Analyzes trends and generates regular reports to inform leadership, accreditation, and program improvements.
Responsible for the development of policies and procedures related to all student mistreatment and grievance matters.
Serves on relevant committees.
Develops and maintains a thorough and up-to-date understanding of the curriculum, departmental goals, and key faculty and staff to support effective academic coordination and collaboration.
Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Master's Degree required in Medical Education, Higher Education, Nursing or related fields
Minimum of 7 or more years of experience in higher education or health professions education.
Strong knowledge of Title IX regulations
Willing to travel to affiliated sites on a regular basis
Demonstrated public speaking experience, with the ability to present effectively to large and small groups, including faculty, students, and institutional leadership.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
Advanced degree (e.g., EdD, PhD, or equivalent) preferred
Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
Title IX Certification

Starting Minimum Rate Minimum rate of $133,120 Annually
