    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>SUMMARY</span></span></p>\n<p><span>To provide high quality ultrasound studies in an efficient and timely manner. Must have an in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the heart and vascular system.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</span></span></p>\n<ol>\n<li><br><span>Provides high quality cardiac ultrasound images of the heart and great vessels, assessment of myocardial function, recording of hemodynamic measurements, and visualization of blood flow using 2D, M-mode, color-flow and spectral Doppler.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Performs high quality ultrasound exams of the cerebral and peripheral blood vessels</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Uses patient identification techniques to identify patient, uses the worklist and ensures safety and privacy during all procedures</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Able to adequately explain test procedures and answer patient questions regarding ultrasound exams</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Independently performs Echocardiograms, Carotid doppler, and Lower/Upper extremity venous studies according to policy and procedure </span></li>\n<li><br><span>Comply with all IAC standards for the echo/vascular laboratory as applicable</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Able to recognize emergent results and give a preliminary report to the reading cardiologist and/or referring physician’s office </span></li>\n<li><br><span>Able to transfer studies from the ultrasound machine to the PACS storage for the reading cardiologist to interpret in a timely manner</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Able to navigate through the ultrasound reporting system and help solve basic problems with the system</span>\n<ol>\n<li><br><span>Merge studies to the appropriate order if needed</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Place study in patient folder with patient name, medical record number and physician name</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Print and edit studies in the reporting system</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Burn CD’s for echo/vascular studies as needed</span></li>\n</ol>\n</li>\n<li><br><span>Clean and sanitize equipment and work area after each patient use and as needed</span></li>\n</ol>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES</span></span></p>\n<ol>\n<li><br><span>Utilizes patient worklist appropriately</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Able to troubleshoot equipment for minor repairs</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Initiate technical support when needed for ultrasound machine and/or storage system</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Able to maintain adequate par values of supplies and restock as necessary for ultrasound rooms</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Answer unattended departmental telephones as necessary</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Performs other duties as assigned</span></li>\n</ol>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS</span></span></p>\n<ol>\n<li><br><span>Must have excellent critical thinking and decision making skills</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Must have excellent time management and organizational skills</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Must have excellent interpersonal skills including excellent customer service to both patients and co-workers</span></li>\n</ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>EDUCATION, LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION</span></span></p>\n<ol>\n<li><br><span>Registered with ARDMS as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS/AE) and/or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or with CCI as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) with &gt;2 years clinical experience, preferred</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Must have current CPR certification or within 3 months of hire</span></li>\n</ol>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SCIENCE, ART &amp;
