    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Nemours Children's Health is seeking an Audiologist (Casual/PRN) to join our team in Lakeland, Florida.</strong></p><p>Provides comprehensive audiometric pediatric services including hearing evaluations, intervention, documentation, patient/parent/caretaker education, communication and coordination of care with medical/clinical staff and outside agencies as appropriate with the guidelines designated by the department and Nemours Children's Hospital.&nbsp; Actively participates in departmental education activities to expand knowledge of patient populations and evidence-based practice.</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc; padding-left: 24px;\"><li>Clinical responsibilities will be to administer age-appropriate audiological pediatric evaluations including middle ear analysis, otoacoustic emissions, VRA, CPA and traditional behavioral threshold evaluations in accordance with established protocols with appropriate counseling regarding evaluation results and recommendations for treatment, intervention, follow-up, and referral.&nbsp;</li><li>Evaluates patients for hearing difficulties, impairments and makes appropriate recommendations to physicians, families, schools, and community agencies for follow-up care.&nbsp;</li><li>Clinical responsibilities include device evaluations- hearing aids and BAHS- selection, programming, dispensing, electroacoustic/behavioral verification, follow-up, orientation, and counseling.&nbsp; Additional responsibilities include earmold impressions, modifications, device troubleshooting, in-office repairs and recommending/fitting assistive listening devices.</li><li>Audiological monitoring of patients exposed to ototoxic drugs in hematology, oncology, and nephrology with appropriate follow-up.</li><li>Additional responsibilities may also include Auditory Evoked Potentials, cochlear implant evaluations, programming, and follow up, and Auditory Processing evaluations, dependent upon audiologist’s skill set.</li><li>Demonstrates proficiency in the care of neonates, pediatrics and adolescents for both inpatient and outpatient populations. Independently provides and coordinates age-appropriate treatment plans and treatment in routine patient care situations. Consults with other services, families and outside agencies to recommend equipment, home or school modifications, therapy, etc.</li><li>Attends departmental meetings related to patient treatment and contributes to discussion as an interdisciplinary team member.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Job Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Doctorate Degree in Audiology or its equivalent from an accredited university required (Audiologists graduating prior to 2007 may hold a Master's Degree in Audiology).</li><li>Minimum of one (1) year job related experience required.</li><li>Clinical internship in pediatrics preferred.</li><li>Must hold or be eligible for Florida State License to practice Audiology.</li><li>American Heart Association BLS Certification required within 6 months of hire.</li><li>Member of professional specialty organizations (AAA, ASHA, Florida Academy of Audiology etc.), preferred.</li><li>Familiarity with assessment scales and instrument, techniques of assessment and intervention with pediatric populations.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience with physically and or mentally challenged populations preferred.&nbsp;</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.&nbsp;</li><li>Strong electrophysiological background including ABR, VEMP and VNG testing.</li></ul><p>#LI-EP1</p>",
