Our core team of 100 professional investigators, engineering technicians, and support staff is enhanced through relationships with some of the top scientists, standard-makers, and specialized consultants in North America. We serve a wide range of industries including Insurance, Manufacturing, Legal, Construction, Health Care, Commercial and Residential Property, Financial, Government, Hospitality, Mining, Renewable Energy, and Transportation.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Purpose:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The Human Factors team evaluates human behavior in both forensic and non forensic contexts. This includes assessing driver opportunity to avoid collisions, as well as evaluating human performance within specific processes, tools, and environments.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The Associate reports to the Practice Lead and works closely with senior team members to support client consultations, conduct examinations and analysis, and prepare clear, concise technical reports and presentations.</span></p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Perform site examinations to gather field measurements</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Includes site measurements relating to driver performance in collision and non-collision events.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Includes assessment of lighting conditions and calibrated photography to assess the conspicuity of hazards</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Includes use of measurement tools to assess friction of surfaces involved in slips, trips and falls</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Conduct literature reviews to synthesize research and evidence into a cohesive and straight-forward opinion</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Assist in the preparation of technical reports based upon sound investigations and analysis</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Effectively communicate investigation and analysis findings to colleagues</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Be prepared to provide expert testimony in court</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Manage and complete tasks within investigations according to client-approved scopes of work, in order to deliver high quality reports on time and within budget</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Manage timesheets, invoicing and accounts receivable on projects according to organizational best practices,</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Continue to establish your presence in the marketplace through regular publication, in-person client meetings and participation in professional communities</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Develop an understanding of the core values of the firm and familiarization with the strategic plan</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Put a key emphasis and focus on the development of skills specific to the business and work towards being a significant contributor to the firm</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Participation in industry events and seminars</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Perform additional duties as required</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Qualifications:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">A sound base in the application of engineering and/or scientific method to problem solving and deductive reasoning</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Post graduate degree in human factors, kinesiology or engineering (with human factors content) with emphasis in driver performance, reaction time, perception and response, is preferred</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Work experience in forensic engineering and human factors / ergonomics an asset</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Professional certification with the Canadian College for the Certification of Professional Ergonomists (CCCPE), or equivalent, an asset</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Our Mission:</span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">We are problem solvers.
