Our stores can carry everything from text and trade books, technology, and school supplies to clothing, regalia, and food-- everything a college student desires, their parents want, and our faculty needs. A Supervisor should support the management team, be a resource for all departments, a model for customer service, a driver for sales, and a skillful problem solver. Responsibilities As a Supervisor in Store Operations you will spend the majority of your time handling the cash office, communicating with our Home Office, resolving merchandise payable matters, matching and processing invoices to ensure the store has the products to service our customers. You must be knowledgeable about department and store operations; matching and receiving invoices; and resolving problems. Expectations: Examine shipments and compare with records, such as invoices or orders, to verify accuracy. Record shipment data, determine space requirements and position of shipments, manage damage, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and record keeping purposes. Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials. Correspond with established representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, or shortages. Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping. Use hand tools, power tools, online shipping services, or postage meters. Maintain a working knowledge of all departments in the store to provide daily support, direction, and guidance to customers and team members. Help resolve customer issues and complaints and escalate problems to the management team when necessary. Assist in the daily operation of the store in partnership with the management team and act as the Manager-on-Duty in the absence of the manager or at satellite locations. Assist with assigning work and providing focused direction to team members to manage and accomplish multiple projects to ensure the proper execution of the workload. May be needed to assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments. Full-time positions require availability to work at least 30 hours on a weekly basis year round. Schedules may be set or vary to meet the needs of the store. Routine housekeeping including, for example, dusting, mopping, window cleaning, vacuuming, trash removal. Physical Demands: Frequent movement within the store to access various departments, areas, and/or products. Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods. Frequent lifting. Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. Massachusetts Pay Transparency Information (Only applicable in Massachusetts stores) :Pay: Full-time Supervisor- Store Operations pay range $17.00/hour. Benefits available include : • Get paid sooner! Daily Pay earned wage access is available to all store employees• Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance• Life Insurance• Short term and Long Term disability• Eligibility to participate in a 401k (after the completion of 1000 hours worked in a 12 month period)• Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick and Flex Days)• Commuter Benefits• Employee Assistance Program• Employee Discount Eligibility for each plan may Include a waiting period and may require the employee to enroll during a stated eligibility period. Qualifications 2+ years’ experience in a retail setting preferred. Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age to be considered for employment. High school diploma/GED preferred. Outstanding customer service skills to match customers to products that meet their needs. Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required. Excellent customer service and communication skills needed. Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
