Description

Who are we? Newmedica is one of the leading providers of NHS ophthalmology services in England, delivering outpatient appointments, diagnostic testing and eye surgery to change lives through better sight and eye health. We’re proud to have been certified as a Great Place to Work for the third year running and listed among the UK’s top 30 Best Workplaces™ for 2026 —recognition that reflects how colleagues feel about working here. Our Purpose is to change lives through better sight and eye health, and our Vision is to end avoidable sight loss in every community we serve; we live our values every day—Commercial, Courageous, Compassion, Collaborative and Curious. Role overview We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Service Engagement Lead to join our team. This is a role designed to support the development and growth of new patient referrals into the service, provide exceptional customer service to our private patients and coordinate all educational and marketing initiatives. The role will work across the Newmedica Cheshire and North Wales region to deliver the required referral numbers to achieve the expected sales targets and growth strategy for the Newmedica Cheshire Oaks clinic. Occasional evenings will be required to support our educational and marketing activities and events. You will be highly visible within the community surrounding the clinic and your practical understanding of the local referral community will help Partners to develop referrer engagement plans and build local relationships with referrers such as Opticians, GPs, Referral Management Centres, LOCs. You will work closely with all Private Medical Insurers to boost our profile and drive private sales through a variety of channels. You will be the main conduit between the clinic and the central Marketing & Engagement functions. You will be the eyes and ears on the ground and will have a thorough understanding of competitor activity. You will also play a key role in the planning and organising of events such as CPD sessions, local marketing initiatives, attending optical fairs and events and much more. What skills and experience do I need You will have experience within a referrals or sales generation environment. Ideally you will have knowledge of the NHS policy landscape relating to patient referrals, particularly in the ophthalmology sector. You will be an organised self-starter – a strong communicator who is able to overcome challenges and influence people to your point of view. Your friendly and engaging personality will mean that you are adept at establishing effective working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders. You will be used to building long term relationships and will understand how to maintain these contacts in a way that will encourage on-going patient referrals. You will have experience of organising and managing promotional events and your excellent organisational skills will ensure these are always a success. You will be comfortable working in a hybrid-based role with a high degree of travel around the Cheshire and North Wales. Whilst the core working time is typical office hours, flexibility will be required regarding travel and after-hours events. This role will suit a friendly, engaging and confident person who thrives in a fast-paced, target driven environment. What we’re offering A salary of up to £45K pro rata 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays A company pension scheme Access to a range of benefits including free eye tests, discounted or free glasses, a free 24/7 wellbeing/counselling/advice service, death in service cover, and the blue light discount scheme Free access to Headspace App An environment where your development is supported through a range of various learning tools and courses Working with a friendly multi-disciplinary team passionate about improving the lives of our patients A bright, spacious and modern working environment, built to the highest standards If you would like an informal chat about the opportunity or to request a job description, please contact [email protected] Our employment offers are subject to receipt of satisfactory pre-employment checks. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and a Disclosure and Barring Service check will be necessary in the event of a successful application which we will pay for. At Newmedica, we actively promote diversity and equal opportunities, and we are committed to this in both the running of our services and how we recruit our staff. We actively encourage applications from everyone with the essential requirements of the job, regardless of any protected characteristics. Newmedica is fully committed to safeguarding the welfare of all people, irrespective of gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, race, language, religion, ethnic or social origin.
