    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Work directly with students to provide support with specialized equipment and/or technology.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Supervise students in laboratory/studio experiences, supporting student acquisition of knowledge and skills of the course learning outcomes.</li>\n <li>Monitor the safe and appropriate use of lab/studio equipment and operate the equipment safely.</li>\n <li>Reinforce classroom instruction in the lab setting.</li>\n <li>Facilitate student study groups.</li>\n <li>Provide assistance to students related to equipment and technology.</li>\n <li>Maintain and repair lab facilities and equipment.</li>\n <li>Prepare demonstration material for faculty instruction.</li>\n <li>Recommend purchase of lab supplies, material, equipment and software.</li>\n <li>Setup and breakdown of equipment and supplies as required.</li>\n <li>Assist in conducting student services functions as needed.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with faculty to schedule lab and/or simulation experiences.</li>\n <li>Maintain records of student attendance and performance in lab and provide input to faculty as appropriate.</li>\n <li>Proctor special exams as needed.</li>\n <li>Oversee work study students and student help and coordinate hourly help in the lab.</li>\n <li>Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Minimum Qualifications: </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Education: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree required in the field or related field or, in limited circumstances, the equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.</li>\n <li>Appropriate licensure/certification will be required in certain departments.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>Experience\n<ul>\n <li>Relevant work experience desirable.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Requires expertise in handling and treatment of harmful chemicals, substances, and/or equipment specific to the laboratory/studio in which the incumbent works.</li>\n <li>Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the proven ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and faculty.</li>\n <li>Proven ability to work effectively with students of varying ages, cultures, and knowledge base.</li>\n <li>Proven ability to communicate ideas, principles and concepts effectively in individual or small group settings.</li>\n <li>Computer literacy skills at an intermediate level including a proven ability to utilize and apply Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point as well as specialized software programs and computer applications essential to the learning process. e.g. the College’s Learning Management System and ERP.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of information research strategies.</li>\n <li>Ability to travel to other sites as needed.</li>\n <li>Fluency in a second language may be required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Preferred Qualifications & Special Considerations: </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities.Must be able to handle/treat harmful chemicals, substances, and/or equipment specific to the lab/studio.
