Description

Position : A&P Mechanic / Hoist Operator Aircraft : Leonardo AW169 Location : Beaumont, Texas Department: Aircraft Maintenance FLSA: Salary, Non-Exempt Shift : Rotational, 14 days on, 14 days off (mix of day and night) Postion Summary: HeliService USA is seeking an experienced and dedicated hoist operator to join our team in Sabine Pass, Texas. As part of our dynamic team, you will work and fly on a fleet of AW169 helicopters, ensuring their maintenance and operational readiness for challenging and essential missions. You will conduct offshore hoist operations both day and night to facilitate marine pilot transfers to vessels. Join a team committed to excellence, safety, and mission success. Key Responsibilities: Perform daily and periodic inspections, repair and maintenance of engines, and airframes as required by manufacturer guidance, industry best practices, FAA regulations, and company directives. Be well versed in a variety of hoisting situations day and night, to include but not limited to high hoists, confined area, elevated platform, and vessel operations. Be responsible in the cabin for passengers and inform the pilots when cabin is ready, ensuring harbor pilots and any other passengers are seated within CG limits and that equipment is stowed and secured. Maintain flight currency and training minimums as applicable. Ensure cleanliness of company equipment such as aircraft, vehicles, offices, hangar, and living quarters. Other tasks as assigned by the Base Lead Mechanic. Qualifications: Required : Active Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate. Prior hoist and/or aircrew experience. Annual “fit for duty” physical required for hoisting operations (not required upon hire). Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the US. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time. Must be physically able to push/pull/lift, unload, and maneuver heavy equipment and/or luggage in excess of 70 pounds for extended periods of time; must have physical dexterity sufficient to perform repetitive tasks and motions, including bending at the waist and knees, climbing, balancing, squatting, kneeling, crawling, twisting and sustaining those positions for extended amounts of time in aircraft cargo holds and baggage bins. The employee must have sufficient hearing and vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position. Preferred: Prior a ircraft maintenance experience (3 years). Three (3) years’ previous experience on a dedicated rotary-wing SAR or hoist aircraft serving as a Helicopter Hoist Operator (Winch Operator). Night SAR unaided and/or NVG Operational experience. Familiarity with Leonardo family of aircraft (AW169/AW139). Training/Specific Activities Required: Complete annual training as required by company policy and law on an annual basis in a timely manner. Read all newsletters and bulletins to remain current on policies, procedures, and developments as well as to meet all company compliance standards. Employment at HeliService USA is contingent on successful completion of training and release to the line by the Chief Aircrewman and Director of Maintenance at the completion of the required line training period. Pre-employment drug testing must be completed with verified negative results in full compliance with applicable DOT and FAA regulations prior to an individual performing any safety-sensitive functions. Proximity to moving aircraft, ground support equipment, and vehicles. Potential exposure to aviation fuel, fumes, oils, and other chemicals. Slip, trip, and fall hazards within hangar and ramp areas. Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, including repetitive motion tasks. Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling, keyboarding, speaking. Additional physical demands may be required.
