We&#39;re hiring!</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Viewpoint School is currently seeking a Facilities Technician - HVAC . The Facilities Technician - HVAC &nbsp;performs duties necessary to operate and maintain the heating, ventilating, air conditioning and electrical systems in order to provide a comfortable environment in classrooms, laboratories and offices on campus; following recognized procedures and techniques for such work.&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Primary Functions:</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul><li>Maintains heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and electrical systems on campus</li><li>Preventive maintenance, cleaning, adjustment, repair and replacement of heating and cooling systems</li><li>Help in maintaining equipment records for scheduling of maintenance, ordering of repair parts and optimal utilization of resources</li><li>Monitors systems performance with continuous attention to malfunctions and repair needs</li><li>Provide maintenance support in electrical, plumbing, carpentry and other areas as needed</li><li>Assists Maintenance Manager in preparing annual budget for maintenance or replacement of equipment and supplies</li><li>Installs, inspects, operates and repairs heating, ventilating and cooling equipment using necessary hand tools and testing equipment</li><li>Inspects and operates air conditioning units and machinery to determine that all are functioning properly</li><li>Ensure all work performed is in compliance with all regulatory agencies</li><li>Tests efficiency of system with instruments and makes adjustment to thermostatic controls and blowers&nbsp;</li><li>Lubricates compressors, motors and other moving parts</li><li>Tests systems before placing them in operation</li><li>Tests joints and connections according to type of refrigerant used</li><li>Repairs leaks and retests</li><li>Drains system by means of vacuum pump</li><li>Operates system for several hours, making adjustments to thermostats and valves to insure system is working properly</li><li>Is On-call to handle after-hours HVAC issues and emergencies&nbsp;</li><li>May have minor supervisory duties when helper is assigned to assist in the work of the mechanic</li><li>Assist in setups and breakdown of events</li><li>Other maintenance repair work as needed</li><li>Maintain equipment and tools in the Facilities Department</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:&nbsp;</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul><li>Minimum of three (3) years&rsquo; experience in a HVAC maintenance</li><li>Universal EPA recovery certification</li><li>Knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning machinery and components</li><li>Courteous manner in dealing with public. Maintain a professional distance between students and families.</li><li>Knowledge of safety practices and procedures</li><li>Valid motor vehicle operator&#39;s license.</li><li>Must be self-directed, detail and customer service oriented</li><li>Provide problem-solving skills and sound judgment</li><li>Experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Grounds, and Custodial</li><li>Effective verbal and listening communications skills</li><li>Be able to communicate, as directed, with administrative, faculty, and staff</li><li>Maintain a positive and cooperative working relationship with members of the department and campus community</li><li>Position requires adaptability, analyzing, assessing, calculating, decision making, dependability, good judgment, reading, memorizing, social skills, speaking, multitasking, and writing</li><li>In addition to the position described above, you agree to perform other duties and responsibilities as shall be assigned by Head of School or other supervisor</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Physical Requirements and Work Environment:</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul><li>Regularly sit, talk and hear</li><li>Required to occasionally bend and stoop.
