Job Title: EXpress Train/Stop Conductor Contract Period: August 21st - September 7th, 2026Pay Rate: $17.60 / hr ABOUT US Looking for a summer job that’s fun, by the waterfront and gets you access to one of Toronto’s most iconic events? Come join our team at the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE)! The CNE, often affectionately referred to as The Ex, is Canada’s largest community event and one of the top ten agricultural fairs in North America, attracting approximately 1.6 million visitors annually over the course of its 18-day run. With something for everyone, the CNE offers a wide range of attractions and interactive entertainment experiences including: concerts, midway rides and games, shopping, exhibits, tech and gaming hubs, food and wacky treats! Responsibilities Inspect the safety of the train prior to the start of each shift Enforce safety procedures/polices to ensure safe operation Read from a prepared script that describes the surrounding buildings, venues and attractions Assist with loading and unloading of guests, particularly those in wheelchairs/scooters Control the flow of people boarding and exiting the train Answer basic questions from guests regarding programming, attractions, facilities and services Direct guests to facilities/services as requested Required Skills Initiative Friendly Disposition Energetic; Enthusiastic; has personality Ability to speak to small and large groups Confident Professional Demeanour Teamwork Able to work with minimal supervision Required Qualifications Minimum Age Requirement: 16 years Due to the customer service nature of the job, applicants must be able to speak fluent English Ability to lift or push heavy items such as a Wheel Chair and ramp Available to work all 18 days of the fair (August 21 - Sept. 7, 2026) (Days off will be scheduled with your supervisor) Able to attend Mandatory HR and Job Specific Orientation Session in Early August Available to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends Note: Steel toed shoes required (not provided) Special Conditions Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time Ability to work in all weather conditions Physically demanding job May be required to dress in appropriate uniform Learned Skills Customer Service Skills Problem Solving Skills Self-motivation Skills Public Speaking Skills Communication Skills Teamwork
