It offers a variety of services including primary medical care for families, antenatal and postpartum care for pregnant individuals, nutrition support (including a daily hot lunch), counseling, social work support, infant development, housing support, and group classes.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Reporting to the Medical Director, the physician who accepts this position will join the interdisciplinary team providing evidence-based, quality care for a marginalized population of pregnant and parenting people. They are responsible for providing direct clinical services to patients at Sheway and fostering a collaborative inter-professional practice environment that enhances client-centered services within the associated clinics/sites/programs. They will work within a self-directed team of physicians and inter- professional colleagues to achieve excellence in client-centered care within a complex multi-site environment. Please note this is not a Primary Care Network Opportunity.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education, Licensing, & Experience</strong><strong>:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>A Medical Degree and eligibility for licensure, in good standing, with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia. </li>\n <li>Current Canadian Medical Protection Association, or equivalent, coverage. </li>\n <li>Eligibility for a faculty appointment with the University of British Columbia, School of Medicine is required. </li>\n <li>Admitting privileges for intrapartum obstetrics (or intention to obtain) with BC Women’s Hospital (preferably) or another hospital.</li>\n <li>Associate privileges (or intention to obtain) with Vancouver Coastal Health </li>\n <li>Experience in and a commitment to caring for marginalized populations </li>\n <li>A demonstrated ability in working as a member of an inter-professional health care team </li>\n <li>A passion for providing maternity care </li>\n <li>A trauma informed approach to care </li>\n <li>A commitment to participate in new methods in health improvement and care delivery, including shared care </li>\n <li>An interest in clinical teaching</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC)- Full/Provisional</li>\n <li>Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP)- Mandatory</li>\n <li>Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)- Mandatory</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge & Abilities: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Health promotion and prevention strategies.</li>\n <li>Awareness of and sensitivity to patients from diverse ethnic backgrounds and/or with diverse cultural beliefs and practices. </li>\n <li>LGBTQ2S healthcare </li>\n <li>Trauma informed practice and culturally safe care for Indigenous peoples</li>\n <li>Familiarity with transgender care is an asset.</li>\n <li>Communicable diseases, including sexually transmitted infections, HIV, Hepatitis C</li>\n <li>A desire to serve complex clients. </li>\n <li>An interest in supporting chronic disease management models of service delivery.</li>\n <li>Comprehensive family practice background; and</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team setting.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Closing Statement</h2>\n<p>Interested in applying?
