Description

We are ERock! ERock is a leader and innovator of Electrical Resiliency-As-A-Service. Our advanced dual-purpose microgrids protect companies, critical infrastructure, and communities from unexpected power outages, ensuring business continuity and civic durability. ERock’s dual-purpose microgrids use natural gas and renewable natural gas (RNG) to drive the nation’s most dependable microgrids — all while producing significantly lower to zero carbon emissions than traditional diesel backup generators. Powered by GraniteEcosystem™, our revolutionary software system, ERock solutions provide 24/7/365 monitoring, optimization, and forecasts to enable worry-free, reliable power for businesses. The ERock solution brings together patented technologies, advanced dual-purpose microgrid designs and integrated end-to-end services.?The Power is On and we keep it on. What you’ll do… We are looking to hire a detailed-oriented, driven, and resourceful electrical engineer to assist our proposal team with FEED (Front-End Engineering and Design) engineering, providing innovative solutions, based on technical knowledge and practical constructability. The successful candidate will review proposed designs and develop concrete configurations founded on equipment standards and industry norms. The improved designs will then be provided to the project engineering team for final project execution. The engineer will also assist with multiple (microgrid reliability as a service) Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects. The engineering applicant will have a proven track record of performing project and electrical engineering work - mechanical engineering experience is a plus. The position will report to the Manager of Microgrid Engineering and will work on a hybrid schedule based out of our headquarters in downtown Houston, TX. You’ll make an impact by: Leading and coordinating front-end design and engineering development activities to establish the technical basis for detailed design and project execution. Developing and defining the project’s electrical scope, design criteria, and basis of design documents (BODs) in alignment with client objectives and applicable standards. Supporting the preparation of conceptual layouts, one-lines, and preliminary equipment sizing for distributed generation and microgrid systems. Evaluating technical alternatives and feasibility during concept development to optimize performance, cost, and schedule. Collaborating closely with project managers, system engineers, and discipline leads to ensure technical alignment and proper integration of electrical systems into the overall project design. Supporting development of key design decisions, such as topology selection, redundancy philosophy, and protection schemes. Coordinating with third-party vendors and specialists to obtain and incorporate budgetary quotations and technical data into FEED deliverables. Ensuring that FEED documentation meets applicable codes, standards (NEC, ANSI, IEEE, NFPA), and project quality requirements. Developing concept-level power system models (ETAP or equivalent) to support load flow, short circuit, and protection coordination studies at the FEED level. Preparing and reviewing technical memoranda, design basis documents, and design assumptions registers. Additional responsibilities may be added at the direction of Company’s management. You’ll sweep us off our feet if you: Have Power, Controls, and Utility systems experience. Have strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Office products (Project, Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point) and various pdf editing/mark up software. Have the ability to develop a good understanding of Company standards, practices and procedures pertaining to engineering and design. Can work with minimum supervision, be a self-starter, be able to meet goals and deadlines on own initiative. Can be self-motivated and able to maintain deadlines of assigned project deliverables, via reports from project management scheduling software. Can develop a good understanding of company standards, practices and procedures pertaining to engineering and design. Have the ability to drive all technical aspects of a project from cradle-to-grave with minimal supervision. Have the ability to draft effectively and efficiently in AutoCAD, is highly preferred.
