Description
Summary: This position is responsible for the overall operation of domestic violence and rape crisis programs within a large social service agency. Programs include comprehensive community-based services including 24-hour hotline and medical advocacy response, confidential emergency shelter, supervised visitation and the coordination of the Framingham High Risk Domestic Violence Response Team. Duties include oversight of day-to-day operations, personnel management, contract compliance, budget and fiscal oversight, data reporting, fundraising and grant writing.

Develop and maintain a social justice orientation and ensure the delivery of safe and confidential trauma-informed programming to meet the needs of sexual and domestic violence victims, survivors and their children. Provide trauma-informed leadership through ongoing supervision; promote the professional growth and development of the management team and staff. Create and maintain an organizational culture of openness, respect and inclusion; ensure a welcoming and empowering climate for staff and clients. Identify, develop, and maintain strategic community partnerships to ensure a coordinated community response for victims and survivors of sexual and domestic violence. Identify and pursue relevant federal, state, local and private funding opportunities; monitor required deadlines, adhere to reporting requirements and other necessary actions. Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising activities for special events. Ensure compliance with fiscal and programmatic contract requirements. Represent Voices Against Violence (VAV) at all required funder meetings, etc. Actively participate in local and statewide networks and coalitions including Jane Doe, Inc. Stay current with best practices, relevant state and federal legislation and promote responsible public policy. Ensure integration with all SMOC programs; work collaboratively with SMOC Behavioral Health to enhance the delivery of clinical services to survivors. Manage the operational and fiscal activities of the program/department to include: staffing levels, budgets and financial goals. Recruit, manage, develop and evaluate staff by providing timely mentoring, training and performance management. Complete required paperwork in accordance with company policy. Engage all clients by understanding and addressing their needs whether within or outside the scope of work. Attend and participate in team meetings as requested and communicate effectively with clients and staff in other areas. Maintain confidentiality of client, employee and agency information in accordance with federal and state laws and funder requirements. Ensure compliance with program/department, agency and/or funder requirements as well as SMOC policies and procedures. Be on call for the medical advocacy and support line as needed. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience working in the field of sexual/domestic violence desired; within MA strongly preferred. Minimum of 3-6 years program and personnel management experience required; senior level management experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated commitment to social justice and the delivery of trauma-informed support and services. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse, multi-cultural, multi-lingual team and promote an institutional culture of inclusion and welcoming. Demonstrated technical writing skills (grant proposals, funding requests, reports, etc.) required as is experience with budget planning, fundraising and financial management. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain important strategic community partnerships. Familiarity with the complexities of operating 24-hour programs; experience with residential milieu a plus. Exceptional personal and professional boundaries, ability to work in an ever-changing environment, ability to prioritize tasks, and ability to effectively delegate. Organizational Relationship:
Reports to the Director of Family Systems. Direct reports of this position are the Community-Based Program Manager, Residential Program Manager, Supervised Visitation Program Manager and Office Manager. Physical Requirement:
Ability to drive both long and short distances. Ability to navigate three-story residential property without elevator. Working Conditions: As part of the responsibilities of this position, the Component Director will have direct or incidental contact with clients served by SMOC in various programs funded or administered through the Executive Office of Health and Human Services. A successful background check is required.
Hybrid Work Option: Hybrid work is permissible in some positions at SMOC depending on the key functions and responsibilities. The Component Director, VAV position is eligible to work from home 0-20% of the week in scheduling coordination with the department manager.
Monday through Friday: 9:00AM - 5:00PM. Includes a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.
35 Hours per week.
