Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.</p><p><strong>What are we looking for?</strong></p><p>The <strong>Field Technician I</strong> is responsible for performing a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures. <strong>The ideal candidate will be willing to travel throughout the U.S. performing various PDA &amp; TIP testing and SPT calibrations.</strong></p><p>In addition to competitive compensation packages, when working with Intertek you can expect benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, generous vacation / sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p><ul><li>Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (example: Attaching sensors and or cables and verifying the sensors are operating correctly and collecting data) and provide assessment of data through reporting</li><li>Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams</li><li>Use specific methods and perform tasks to make detailed observations of site activities and give limited interpretation of results</li><li>Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results</li><li>Work remotely with staff engineers to collect data.</li></ul><p>This position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Minimum Requirements &amp; Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Pile Dynamic Analysis (PDA) experience is required</li><li>Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record</li><li><p>High School Diploma or equivalent</p><p>&nbsp;</p></li><li>Ability to travel up to 75% of the time</li><li>Ability to learn new computer operating software easily.</li><li>Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and a measuring tape.</li><li>Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance</li><li>Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound</li><li>Ability to kneel and squat occasionally</li><li>Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time</li><li>Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures</li><li>Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights</li><li>Ability to work over night hours and off shift</li><li>Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Preferred Requirements &amp; Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Thermal Integrity Profiling (TIP) Experience</li><li>Low Strain, Echo Testing (PIT) Experience</li><li>Standard Penetration Testing (SPT) Experience</li><li>Construction Experience</li><li>Engineering degree</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Intertek: Total Quality.
