The primary focus of this position is maintenance, service and repair of facilities and equipment. Successful Electrical Technicians are fast learners and self-motivated, independent workers. They have the ability to work under pressure and the willingness to work in varying conditions. Electrical Technicians receive training in troubleshooting, technical procedures, and safety. They help create, maintain, and repair the electronic components and equipment used in any machinery that involves electricity. They work on site to keep machinery and specialty equipment running correctly.</p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Use specialized measuring and diagnostic devices to evaluate equipment</li>\n <li>Inspect for problems</li>\n <li>Work with wires using hand tools while handling small components</li>\n <li>Repair and replace defective components in motors, generators, controllers, storage batteries, switchboards, conductors, switches and varied electrical fixtures</li>\n <li>Install, maintain and repair electrical, electromechanical, and electronic parts of machinery and equipment</li>\n <li>Perform defensive repair and preservation of field, plant and shop for electronic and electrical systems, equipment, and devices</li>\n <li>Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams</li>\n <li>Plan and prepare work orders or instructions utilizing blueprints, sketches, and drawings</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>2 Year Electrical Degree or 5+ years experience </li>\n <li>Medical Clearance for use of Fall Protection Harness (Weight restrictions related to equipment limitations may apply)</li>\n <li>Experience with:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Power Distribution</li>\n   <li>Industrial motor control (A/C & D/C Controls) </li>\n   <li>Process control and instrumentation </li>\n   <li>Combustion control systems</li>\n   <li>Computer skills / computer operated control systems </li>\n   <li>Ladder logic</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Manufacturing experience preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>What Novelis Offers</strong></p>\n<p>Novelis benefits say a lot about how we care for each other. The Oswego plant produces more than one billion pounds of high-quality aluminum sheet each year serving customers in the automotive beverage can and specialty markets.
