VHB’s Transportation group has earned a reputation as one of the preeminent traffic engineering and transportation planning teams in Connecticut. This position provides an opportunity to lead complex transportation projects for major institutional, real estate, and governmental clients and play an important role in expanding and shaping the group. We are looking for someone with a blend of project management skills, technical expertise, managerial skills, and innovative thinking.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>2024 ENR New England Design Firm of the Year</li>\n <li>VHB Wins Seven ACEC Engineering Excellence Awards</li>\n <li>2024 ACEC Inaugural (DEI) Commitment Award</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Serve as Senior Project Manager for Municipal, CTDOT, and Regional Planning Agency clients</li>\n <li>Develop and manage client relationships</li>\n <li>Manage staff, and provide technical and professional development of staff</li>\n <li>Assist with strategy for expansion of transportation services throughout CT</li>\n <li>Monitor project financial performance</li>\n <li>Attend and lead meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss/navigate transportation design/permitting challenges</li>\n <li>Develop and execute scope associated with transportation planning, operations and/or design for projects as necessary</li>\n <li>Participate in professional organizations that promote relationships with clients and teaming partners</li>\n <li>Develop new project opportunities, and prepare and manage proposal submissions</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Skills and Attributes </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Self-motivated </li>\n <li>Attention to detail</li>\n <li>Ability to multitask</li>\n <li>Ability to think critically</li>\n <li>Exhibits strong leadership skills</li>\n <li>Strong computer skills (MS Office)</li>\n <li>Strong and collaborative work ethic</li>\n <li>Excels working in a team environment</li>\n <li>Substantial client management, technical and project management experience</li>\n <li>Ability to manage a multidisciplinary team of professionals</li>\n <li>Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills</li>\n <li>Advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures in traffic engineering</li>\n <li>Advanced knowledge of local and state regulations governing transportation design</li>\n <li>Software exposure: AutoCAD, Civil3D, Bently CONNECT Suite, a plus</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, transportation planning or similar discipline required</li>\n <li>Master’s degree a plus (may substitute for 1 year of experience)</li>\n <li>15+ years of professional transportation engineering experience, with at least 7 years of experience working in the CT market, required</li>\n <li>CT Professional Engineer (PE) license required</li>\n <li>Proven success in the state & local government market sectors</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Building what’s next, together.</strong></p>\n<p>Our people make the difference.
