    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold;\">Instructional Assistant</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold;\"><em>A full-time, competitively paid position at a first-rate college preparatory school for boys. </em></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13px;\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 15px;\">Boys’ Latin of Philadelphia seeks an <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Instructional Assistant</span> to support students who receive special education services academically and behaviorally so that they may achieve the school’s mission: success in college and beyond. The assistant will work with individual students or small groups of students receiving special education services to support students in achieving the goals of their individualized education program as well as success inside and outside of the classroom. More specifically, the assistant will provide support to the instructional program by assisting with the supervision, care, and instruction of students in the general and special education settings; supporting the implementation of plans for instruction; monitoring student behavior; and providing information to parents, teachers, and other school stakeholders as needed and appropriate. The assistant will work under the direction of a certified teacher, collaborate with the Specialized Services Department, including special education case managers and teachers, and report to the Director of Specialized Services.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 15px;\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 15px;\">The assistant will perform the following duties:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 15px;\"> Assist special education and general education teachers with daily classroom operations as requested. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 15px;\"> Alert special education or general education teachers and other members of the faculty and staff to the needs of individual students.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 15px;\"> Work with individual or small groups of students to review material and provide academic and behavioral intervention. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 15px;\"> Support individual students with following their daily schedule; transitioning between classes and otherwise on the school’s campus; preparing for class; engaging in learning during class; submitting assignments; and interacting with students, faculty, and staff. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 15px;\"> Follow through with prescribed behavioral management programs.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 15px;\"> Help maintain individual records for each student as required.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 15px;\"> Support a classroom environment that is welcoming, academic, joyful, and safe. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 15px;\"> Enforce the student code of conduct and serve as a culture keeper of the Boys’ Latin mission.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 15px;\"> Support students during extra- and co-curricular programming as part of the school’s award-winning Leadership Academy.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 15px;\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 15px;\">The assistant will demonstrate the following competencies:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 15px;\"> Unwavering commitment to the school’s mission of preparing boys for success in college and beyond.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 15px;\"> Desire to continuously learn and increase effectiveness as a professional to drive results among students. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 15px;\"> Willingness to be flexible and go above and beyond to meet the needs of all students. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 15px;\"> Ability to cultivate strong relationships with all members of the school community, including students, parents, faculty and staff members, administrators, and external partners. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 15px;\"> An Associate’s degree or evidence of completion of at least two years of postsecondary study. </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 15px;\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold;\"><strong>The Boys’ Latin Way</strong></span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt;\">Founded in 2007, Boys’ Latin of Philadelphia is a college preparatory school across two campuses educating boys in grades 6-12.   The mission of Boys’ Latin of Philadelphia is to prepare boys for success in college and beyond.  Every member of the Boys' Latin community stands as a vital part of the village that nurtures our young men's individual and collective success toward this mission.
