    "description": "<p>Astroscale France is looking for a Space Systems Engineer to support the growth of our Toulouse office, and to help in the design and development of our new missions and projects. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>As a Space Systems Engineer you are central to the design of our missions. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>You will work as the mission architect, facilitating trade-offs across system design, requiring collaboration with sub systems engineers and project managers while balancing the needs of missions and steering the technical solutions towards an achievable conclusion. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>At Astroscale, our Systems Engineers are involved on a mission from beginning to end.  Starting with writing bids to customers, then developing and analysing the design during the early mission phases; you will be supporting testing during AIT (and leading system testing), during the launch campaign and finally assist with in-orbit commissioning of the satellite.</p>\n<p>It doesn't end there though! Even after the mission is in orbit, as a Systems Engineer you may be called upon at critical moments during the mission to provide guidance to the operations team.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><br></span><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Performing trade-off analysis </li>\n<li>Performing analysis of the system design </li>\n<li>Generate and maintain system level budgets (mass, power, data) </li>\n<li>Generate and maintain the requirements and associated design &amp; verification compliance</li>\n<li>Prepare sub-system requirements specification to support procurement </li>\n<li>Review and modify FDIR techniques, perform FMECA </li>\n<li>Adapting the system design from existing mission architectures to meet the needs of the current work </li>\n<li>Coordinating with the subsystem leads to understand their problems </li>\n<li>Reviewing inputs from subsystem engineers or external partners and critiquing appropriately </li>\n<li>Authoring and maintaining system level documents, e.g. CONOPS, V&amp;V plan, System test plans </li>\n<li>Presenting results of the above tasks to internal and external customers</li>\n<li>Develop and maintain tooling to support system analysis</li>\n<li>Assist with writing bids, developing and analysing designs during early phases and then continuing that support into the testing phase with AIT. </li>\n<li>Once a mission is launched you will assist with in-orbit commissioning of satellites and should be ready to support the spacecraft operations team with guidance during critical moments </li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Experience and Qualifications</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Essential Skills</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least 4 years’ experience of space system engineering in a commercial environment</li>\n<li>An understanding of all the critical subsystems that make up a satellite mission </li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills </li>\n<li>Excellent coaching skills </li>\n<li>Experience with requirements management </li>\n<li>Ability to perform complicated trade-offs </li>\n<li>Comfortable working with Microsoft office applications (word, excel, powerpoint) </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Fluent in French and English</li>\n<li>Be eligible and registered to work within Europe.</li>\n<li>Be eligible and gain security clearance in France.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Desirable Skills </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good understanding of attitude and orbit control subsystem. </li>\n<li>Experience of AIT activities </li>\n<li>Experience of mission operations </li>\n<li>Experience with STK, GMAT, IDM-CIC</li>\n<li>Experience with Python</li>\n<li>Experience with Visure</li>\n<li>Experience with FMECA </li>\n<li>Experience working on ESA missions </li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Core competencies</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Demonstrates behaviours in line with Astroscale values (mission and people focused, transparent, innovative and pioneering, diverse and customer focused).</span></li>\n<li><span>Proactive, able to build working relationships, mentoring &amp; knowledge sharing</span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Location</span></span></p>\n<p>Astroscale France (Toulouse), with some hybrid working<br><br><br></p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Note to recruitment agencies:<span> </span></span>Astroscale operates a preferred Supplier List, and we do not accept unsolicited agency approaches.
