Responsibilities include:<br><br>• Assists design and development engineers by performing duties requiring practical and technical knowledge to facilitate design or development work, perform work under a minimum of supervision.<br><br>• Receives oral instructions, rough sketches or written memos; determines needs and obtains necessary equipment, tools and materials; assemblies and wires complex equipment following most economical and practical methods of manufacturing and design; fabricates complex parts, components and sub-assemblies using hand and machine tools; constructs experimental laboratory test set-ups as required; conducts physical and electrical tests based on specific performance<br>requirements determined by discussion with or instructions from supervisor or engineer.<br><br>• Compares and summarizes data obtained with established standards and indicates deviations; submits data and reports on practical aspects of tests to supervisor or engineer.<br><br>• Modifies test and other laboratory equipment as required.<br><br>• Evaluates and makes recommendations or suggestions for improvements to equipment, components or procedures as necessary.<br><br>• Fabricates and assemblies developmental printed circuit boards, breadboards, and similar devices as required.<br><br>• Contacts manufacturing personnel, customers, vendors and others as directed in connection with assignments.
