Job Summary:
Activity Guides are flexible, as-needed team members who support the delivery of outdoor activities and essential camp operations across GSNETX camp properties. These guides may lead or assist with activities such as target sports, challenge course, aquatics, and more, and also contribute to kitchen shifts, maintenance tasks, and event support. The position reports to the Camp Activity Manager and is part of a team stewarding four camp properties dedicated to building girls of courage, confidence, and character through community life outdoors.
Essential Functions:
•Program Facilitation: Lead or assist with outdoor activities following established procedures and safety guidelines.
•Camper Engagement: Foster a supportive, inclusive environment that encourages participation and builds confidence.
•Kitchen & Maintenance Support: Assist with meal service, dishwashing, cleaning, and basic maintenance tasks.
•Safety & Risk Management: Conduct equipment checks, monitor camper well-being, and respond to incidents per protocol.
•Resource Management: Set up, maintain, and store equipment and supplies; track inventory as needed.
•Team Collaboration: Partner with colleagues to ensure smooth operations and a cohesive camper experience.
Other:
•Flexible, on-call shifts based on camp needs. May include weekdays, weekends, and evenings. Assignments may occur at any GSNETX camp property.
•Be active outdoors in variable weather conditions all year, including walking around camp on uneven terrain
•Be welcoming, respectful, enthusiastic, and professional with colleagues, members of all ages, and the public always
•Must be able to travel within established geographic areas and council service centers, as necessary
•Must have reliable transportation, hold a valid driver’s license and meet GSNETX driving record & automobile insurance requirements
•Performs other duties, as assigned

•Work or volunteer experience in outdoor activities or youth programs preferred
•Experience with diverse audiences a plus
•Ability to follow instructions and work independently
•Must be 16+ and pass a criminal background check
•Demonstrate and promote a climate of courtesy, respect and professionalism to coworkers, the volunteers served by this council, and others with whom this job puts them in contact.
•Upon employment, employee must register as an adult member in the Girl Scout organization and subscribe to the tenets of the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
•Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, before and after hours, and on weekends, when required.
•Must complete and pass a criminal background check.
