The Solution Architect serves as the technical leader for the program, partnering closely with the Project Manager to define and guide the overall solution architecture in alignment with business and product objectives. This role is responsible for shaping architectural standards, leading technology selection and system design, and ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable solutions that meet both functional and nonfunctional requirements. The Solution Architect remains hands on when needed, contributing to development, reviewing critical components, and promoting clean code, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices. Working within an Agile environment, this individual collaborates with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, developers, and enterprise stakeholders to break down complex initiatives into practical, incremental deliverables, while mentoring team members and guiding architectural decision making. The role also supports production readiness, operational stability, and continuous improvement, clearly communicating technical direction, risks, and tradeoffs to both technical and nontechnical audiences to ensure successful delivery of mission focused solutions.<span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> </span></span><span style=\"color: #222222\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">This position is a part-time role and will be hybrid to  client location in Ashburn, VA. </span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Roles and Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Define and own end-to-end solution architecture aligned with business and product goals.</li>\n<li>Establish or support existing architectural principles, standards, and technical guardrails.</li>\n<li>Lead technology selection, system design, and integration strategies.</li>\n<li>Actively contribute to software development through hands-on coding as needed.</li>\n<li>Design, develop, and review critical components and shared services.</li>\n<li>Support agile delivery by shaping technical backlog items and solution increments.</li>\n<li>Break down complex solutions into scalable, incremental, and shippable components.</li>\n<li>Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and development teams.</li>\n<li>Provide technical leadership during sprint planning, execution, and reviews.</li>\n<li>Guide architectural decision-making and document key decisions (e.g., ADRs).</li>\n<li>Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding and quality standards.</li>\n<li>Ensure non-functional requirements are met, including security, performance, scalability, and reliability.</li>\n<li>Promote clean code, automated testing, CI/CD, and DevOps best practices.</li>\n<li>Identify, manage, and reduce technical debt and architectural risk.</li>\n<li>Mentor and coach developers on architecture, design patterns, and modern development practices.</li>\n<li>Collaborate with enterprise architecture, security, platform, and operations teams.</li>\n<li>Communicate architectural direction, risks, and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li>\n<li>Support production readiness, incident resolution, and operational stability.</li>\n<li>Drive continuous improvement across architecture, code quality, and delivery practices.</li>\n<li>Support demonstrations of the solutions or technologies under consideration to internal or client teams.<br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Qualifications and Education Requirements:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>US Citizenship with ability to successfully complete a federal background investigation.</li>\n<li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field  (equivalent practical experience may be considered).</li>\n<li>8+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated ownership of production systems.</li>\n<li>Technical Certification(s) in one or more of the following areas; architecture, SAFe Agile, Cloud, AI, or SecDevOps.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Preferred Skills</span>:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>AI/ML technologies.<br></li>\n<li>Agile SAFe delivery.</li>\n<li>CI/CD.</li>\n<li>DevSecOps.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(89, 89, 89)\">Application Deadline:</span><span style=\"color: rgb(89, 89, 89)\"><span> </span>This position will be posted for a minimum of 2 business days or until a sufficient candidate pool has been collected.
