Parking Lot Attendant - Almeta Crawford High School

Job Overview The Parking Lot Attendant is responsible for patrolling the campus parking lots to guard against illegal entry, fire, theft and vandalism. High School Diploma or GED Valid Texas Drivers License Some experience in security work Some knowledge of principles, practices and procedures used in security work Ability to follow a prescribed routine and to understand and follow oral and written instructions Ability and alertness in observing unusual and suspicious conditions and reporting such to proper authority without delay Ability to enforce rules and regulations in a tactful and firm manner Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships Physical Requirements/Working Conditions The work environment characteristics and physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The position requires occasional walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting/carrying work related items weighing less than 40 pounds, such as books, papers and presentation materials. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Attendance at conferences and professional development is required. Work involves everyday risks and discomforts which require normal safety precautions when operating equipment or performing job duties. May work prolonged or irregular hours and must be able to maintain emotional control under stress. Additional Information Work is performed outside in all weather conditions and requires sufficient physical strength, agility and dexterity to perform all essential tasks. Duties require walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, sitting, lifting and carrying light objects. Employee is exposed to the usual physical hazards associated with security work. Work also exposes employee to vehicle exhaust fumes and inclement weather. Employee may be required to work evenings.
