Forward Deployed Engineer

About PointOne PointOne is reinventing how law firms operate. Our AI‑powered timekeeper helps attorneys capture billable time automatically and provides rich insights that transform how legal work is managed. We’re a venture‑backed startup (Y Combinator, Bessemer, 8VC, General Catalyst) made up of software engineers (Jane Street, Google, Stanford, Princeton) and ex-attorneys. Following an excellent seed round and rapid customer adoption, we are continuing to quickly scale our engineering team before we raise our Series A. Who you are You have: 2-8 years of experience at hyper-growth startups A CS degree from a top university Strong product sense High degree of ownership and the ability to operate autonomously You're excited to work in-person, collaborate directly with customers, and build products that professionals rely on every day. Why you should join Growth: As a early member of the team, you will shape your own role and directly inform the fundamental infrastructure behind our product. Impact: A lot of AI tools have trouble showing real impact. Not us—we deliver hard ROI to our customers (which is one reason why we're one of the stickiest tools in a law firm). We’re also a multi-product company that expects our engineers to drive technical and product decisions. Equity: We want to bet on ourselves and our employees—we offer a highly competitive equity component with any compensation package. We are looking for true builders and innovators. What you’ll do Drive the success of strategic customer accounts, directly partnering with and executing alongside law firm leadership. Develop novel AI products, providing customers with entirely new workflows. Regularly connect with and visit customers to understand needs, prioritize requests, and translate them into technical solutions. Prototype and integrate AI pipelines (e.g., retrieval‑augmented generation) to prove out new workflows. Lead by example through mentoring future hires, pairing, and code reviews. You'll shape our engineering culture. Our tech We have a fully serverless backend built on top of AWS, consisting of a collection of Go microservices. We use React/Typescript to build client applications across web, desktop, and mobile. We create our own RAG pipelines.   The compensation for this position is determined by multiple factors, including prior experience and expertise. A competitive equity component will also be offered as part of the package.
