Thanks for your interest in joining our team!   </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Key statistics: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>950+ Consultants </li>\n <li>640+ Ph.D.s </li>\n <li>90+ Disciplines </li>\n <li>30+ Offices globally </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Our Opportunity</h2>\n<p>We are currently seeking a <strong>Metallurgical and Corrosion Engineer </strong>with an expertise in coatings for our <strong>Metallurgical and Corrosion Engineering</strong> Practice in <strong>Phoenix, AZ. </strong> In this role you will work as part of a team to conduct materials, metallurgical, and mechanical failure investigations, field inspections, and perform materials characterization and specialized testing.      </p>\n<h2>You will be responsible for</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Conducting hands-on failure analyses</li>\n <li>Materials characterization, coatings testing, metallurgical analysis</li>\n <li>Planning, coordinating, and executing laboratory testing</li>\n <li>Conducting field inspections</li>\n <li>Generating written work product (e.g., PowerPoint presentations, long-form written technical reports)</li>\n <li>Effective presentation of results to technical and non-technical clients and staff</li>\n <li>Manage the day-to-day requirements of multiple engagements</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>You will have the following skills and qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field</li>\n <li>Strong background in materials characterization techniques (e.g. SEM, CT, X-ray, EDS, FTIR, etc.) is required</li>\n <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li>\n <li>Ability to work within project teams with a strong desire to contribute to the team</li>\n <li>The ability to travel as-needed</li>\n <li>Knowledge of coatings technology and failure analysis desired    </li>\n <li>Knowledge of materials degradation including corrosion desired    </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Applicants are encouraged to submit a CV (Curriculum Vitae) with publications (feel free to include publications that are in review or pending) [not restricted to 1 page].</em></p>\n<h2>Life @ Exponent</h2>\n<p>To learn more about life at Exponent and our impact, please visit the following links:https://www.exponent.com/careers/life-exponent https://www.exponent.com/company/our-impact</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Attracting, inspiring, developing, and rewarding exceptional people with diverse backgrounds and expertise are central to our corporate culture. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent.
