    "description": "<p>Scotty's Contracting and Stone is accepting applications for a <em><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Paving Laborer!</span></em> The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence and seeking a long- term career opportunity!</p>\n<p><br>As a full-time employee of Scotty’s Contracting and Stone, you will be eligible for many of our competitive company benefits including: paid holidays and vacation, medical, dental, and vision insurance, short-term disability, company paid life insurance and long-term disability, and Employee Stock Ownership (ESOP) retirement plan!</p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">RESPONSIBILITIES</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in the preparation and construction of roadways, parking lots, and other paved surfaces.</li>\n<li>Spread, level, and smooth asphalt or other materials using rakes, lutes, and shovels.</li>\n<li>Assist with the setup and breakdown of work zones, including traffic control and safety barriers.</li>\n<li>Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas.</li>\n<li>Help move, position, and set up paving equipment and machinery as directed.</li>\n<li>Perform basic maintenance and inspection of paving equipment.</li>\n<li>Assist other workers as needed or directed and other duties as assigned by management.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Communicate effectively with foreman and other crew members regarding project requirements and progress.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.</li>\n<li>Ability to work outdoors in extreme conditions such as cold, heat, and humidity.</li>\n<li>Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and overtime as needed.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Must possess a positive, customer service-oriented attitude.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Standing/Walking: Frequent – required to stand and walk on uneven, hot surfaces for extended periods throughout the workday.</li>\n<li>Sitting: Infrequent – primarily works while standing or walking; may occasionally ride in or assist with equipment.</li>\n<li>Lifting: Occasional – must lift up to 50 pounds from ground to waist level (e.g., tools, cones, shoveling asphalt, etc).</li>\n<li>Carrying: Occasional – carry up to 35 pounds for up to 50 feet (e.g., lutes, tools, or barrels).<br>Pushing/Pulling: Occasional – generate forces of 75+ pounds using asphalt rakes and shovels when working the asphalt.</li>\n<li>Climbing: Occasional – must climb on/off paving equipment, trailers, and in/out of uneven terrain.</li>\n<li>Bending/Crouching/Kneeling: Occasional – frequent postural changes required while raking, shoveling, or compacting asphalt.</li>\n<li>Reaching/Handling/Gripping: Frequent – grip strength of 75 lbs+ required for tools such as lutes, shovels, and hand tampers.</li>\n<li>Balancing: Frequent – must maintain balance on hot, moving, or sloped surfaces and in proximity to traffic and equipment.</li>\n<li>Environmental Conditions: High heat exposure, dust, fumes, noise, and proximity to live traffic and hot materials.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Scotty’s Contracting and Stone is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
