The Host/Hostess NT/Hostest plays a crucial role in creating a welcoming and positive first impression for guests at a dining establishment. This position is responsible for managing the flow of guests, ensuring efficient seating arrangements, and maintaining communication between the front-of-house and kitchen staff. The role requires attentiveness to guest needs, the ability to handle reservations and waitlists, and the skill to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role preferred but not required. Ability to stand for extended periods and work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Strong verbal communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor. Basic computer skills for managing reservations and waitlists. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a restaurant or hospitality environment. Familiarity with reservation management software such as OpenTable or similar platforms. Multilingual abilities to assist a diverse guest population. Conflict resolution skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Knowledge of local dining trends and menu items to assist guests effectively. Responsibilities:
Greet guests promptly and courteously upon arrival, providing a warm and professional welcome. Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating assignments to optimize table turnover and guest satisfaction. Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to coordinate guest seating and special requests. Maintain an organized and clean host/hostess station and dining area to ensure a pleasant environment. Handle guest inquiries, resolve seating-related issues, and provide information about the menu or restaurant policies as needed. Skills:
