    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The Salvation Army’s <strong>Brockton Corps.</strong> is hiring a <strong>Custodian</strong> and offers the following benefit package to part-time employees:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Generous paid time off every year that includes: holidays, vacation time and sick time</li>\n <li>Employer funded Pension Plan (company contributions begin after 1 year of employment and consistently works 20+ hours/week)</li>\n <li>Eligibility for supplemental insurance plans including: Voluntary Term Life & AD&D benefits, AFLAC Insurance</li>\n <li>Most importantly – a job with a good purpose!</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Location</strong>: 216 Centre St., Brockton, MA</p>\n<p><strong>Hours/week: </strong>20 hours per week</p>\n<p><strong>Exemption: </strong>Non-exempt</p>\n<p><strong>Pay Range</strong>: $15.30 - $21.42 per hour</p>\n<p>*starting pay varies depending on experience and qualifications*</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Assist the Corps Officer with the duties and responsibilities of maintenance to ensure safety and cleanliness of the building and assist with food pantry duties.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Duties & Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<p>a) Empty all trash receptacles daily throughout the building.</p>\n<p>b) Clean and disinfect all areas of the facility; restock toilet paper, soap, and paper towels as needed </p>\n<p>c) Maintain an accurate inventory of custodial supplies and notify the supervisor in advance when items need to be reordered </p>\n<p>d) Drive to GBFB and pick up food order.</p>\n<p>e) Keep the pantry and storage areas clean by sweeping and mopping regularly, especially after deliveries are put away. </p>\n<p>f) Clean and maintain building grounds.</p>\n<p>g) Ensure vacuum cleaners remain in working condition; report any needed repairs to the supervisor immediately.</p>\n<p>h) Install bulletin boards, pictures, and similar items. as directed by supervisor.</p>\n<p>i) Complete required 12-passenger van training and maintain the necessary knowledge to safely operate and care for the vehicle. </p>\n<p>j) Clean vehicles inside and out</p>\n<p>k) Operate The Salvation Army vehicle for pick-up and delivery tasks, as needed.</p>\n<p>l) Set up and break down furniture and equipment for special events and trainings. </p>\n<p>m) Attend required staff meetings/trainings</p>\n<p>n) Report any unsafe working conditions to the supervisor.</p>\n<p>o) Maintain positive working relationships with other staff, suppliers, vendors, and professionals.</p>\n<p>p) Perform other related duties as assigned.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Education Requirements:</strong></p>\n<p>High School Graduate, preferred</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Work Experience:</strong></p>\n<p>Minimum one year experience in custodial work</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Other Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be at least 21 years old of age, hold a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a 12-passenger cargo/transport van, including passing the required driving test. </li>\n <li>Demonstrates self-motivated a strong commitment to maintaining a clean and well-cared-for facility </li>\n <li>Able to work independently, with minimal supervision.</li>\n <li>Capable of reading and understanding safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance guidelines, and procedural manuals </li>\n <li>Able manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.</li>\n <li>Possesses working knowledge custodial equipment and tools</li>\n <li>Adheres to all safety standards and procedures related to custodial work.</li>\n <li>Highly organized, detailed-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks efficiently </li>\n <li>Contributes to a positive, supportive work environment and maintains a professional attitude </li>\n <li>Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and sound judgement in decision-making. </li>\n <li>Maintains a high level of confidentiality, discretion, and judgment.</li>\n <li>Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></p>\n<p>The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the duties of this job.
