    "description": "<h2>Description</h2>\n<p>We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced <strong>Outside Plant (OSP) Fiber Optic Technician</strong> to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least <strong>5 years of hands-on experience</strong> in fiber optic installation, splicing, testing, and maintenance within outside plant environments. A strong understanding of fiber optic theory and in-depth knowledge of fiber optic test and verification equipment is essential. <strong>BICSI certifications</strong> are required.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Performing fiber optic cable installation, splicing, terminations, and testing in aerial, underground and Data Center environments</li>\n <li>Operating, maintaining, and interpreting results from optical test equipment including OTDRs, light source/power meters, and fiber inspection scopes</li>\n <li>Conducting site surveys, document field conditions, and providing input for design and engineering teams</li>\n <li>Interpreting and working from engineering prints, schematics, and splice diagrams</li>\n <li>Troubleshooting fiber optic systems and perform emergency restoration work when necessary</li>\n <li>Maintaining detailed records of work performed, including test results and cable routing</li>\n <li>Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and industry standards</li>\n <li>Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other field personnel to ensure timely completion of work</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>FILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING</strong></p>\n<p><em>#LI-JC1</em></p>\n<h2>Requirements</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>TS/SCI clearance</li>\n <li>5+ years of experience in outside plant fiber optic installation and maintenance</li>\n <li>BICSI certified technician (such as Installer 2, Technician, or OSP Specialist)</li>\n <li>Expert knowledge of fiber optic theory, including attenuation, dispersion, connector types, and fiber types (SM/MM)</li>\n <li>Proven experience using and interpreting results from Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer (OTDR), power meter/light source, and fiber inspection tools</li>\n <li>Strong attention to detail</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently or as part of a team</li>\n <li>Excellent documentation and communication skills</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Desired Skills</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with GIS mapping or fiber management software</li>\n <li>Knowledge of construction permitting and right-of-way procedures</li>\n <li>Experience working in federal or secure environments</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Clearance Information</h2>\n<p><strong>SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT.
