    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 28px\">SWLA CENTER FOR HEALTH SERVICES</span></span><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">JOB TITLE:                           </span></span><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Certified Medical Assistant</span></p>\n<p><span><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"><strong>DEPARTMENT:</strong><span style=\"font-size: medium\">                    Clinical Services</span></span></span></p>\n<p><span><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"><strong><br>SUPERVISED BY:</strong><span style=\"font-size: medium\">                 Clinical Services Manager/Site Supervisor</span></span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px\"><br> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">SUMMARY:</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">In keeping with standards recognized by both NCQA Medical Home Recognition and <span>JCAHO</span>, SWLA has a multidisciplinary care team to care for the clinical needs of patients who choose SWLA as their primary care provider.  The team consists of physicians, mid-level practitioners and the nursing support which is described in this job description.  Given the nature of the duties required by the nursing support personnel, SWLA will recruit and hire applicable personnel in the categories of Medical Assistant, Certified and non-certified.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">High School Graduate.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Current certification as a Clinical Medical Assistant.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Current BLS Certification. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">CEU’S or equivalent contact hours for re-certification, as applicable.  </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Must successfully complete and pass a competency exam.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">At least one-year work experience as a Clinical Medical Assistant in an ambulatory outpatient facility preferred.</span></li>\n</ol>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Participates as an integral part of the multidisciplinary care team.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Responsible to greet patients and ensure that they do not spend excess waiting time in the exam room.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Responsible for the collection of necessary information concerning the patient in order to assist the physician in providing medical care.
