As part of Sinclair Broadcast Group, we are committed to producing high-quality journalism and meaningful local content.</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong>Internship Overview</strong></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\">WSYX is seeking motivated, enthusiastic students for our Summer Internship Program. This unpaid internship offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced newsroom and television station environment. Interns will gain exposure to broadcast operations, content production, and the daily workflow of a local media organization.</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\">This is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing careers in journalism, communications, media production, marketing, or related fields.</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\">Responsibilities may vary depending on department placement but can include:</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong>News Department</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assist producers, reporters, and assignment editors with daily news coverage</li>\n <li>Research stories and gather background information</li>\n <li>Help log video and organize newsroom content</li>\n <li>Accompany reporters or photographers on field assignments (when appropriate)</li>\n <li>Observe editorial meetings and newsroom operations</li>\n</ul>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong>Production</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assist with studio preparation and teleprompter operation</li>\n <li>Observe live broadcasts and control room workflow</li>\n <li>Support technical staff with setup and breakdown</li>\n</ul>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong>Digital &amp; Social Media</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assist with website updates and digital content posting</li>\n <li>Draft social media content under supervision</li>\n <li>Monitor engagement and trending topics</li>\n</ul>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong>Marketing &amp; Promotions</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assist with community outreach initiatives</li>\n <li>Support promotional campaigns and station events</li>\n <li>Help organize marketing materials</li>\n</ul>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university</li>\n <li>Majoring in Journalism, Communications, Media, Marketing, or related field preferred</li>\n <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li>\n <li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment</li>\n <li>Professional demeanor and willingness to learn</li>\n <li>Availability during regular business hours (schedule to be determined)</li>\n</ul>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong>Learning Outcomes</strong></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\">Interns will:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Gain firsthand experience in broadcast journalism and station operations</li>\n <li>Develop professional skills in communication, teamwork, and time management</li>\n <li>Build industry connections and receive mentorship from media professionals</li>\n</ul>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong>Duration &amp; Schedule</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Summer term (dates flexible based on academic calendar)</li>\n <li>Part-time schedule (to be coordinated with supervisor)</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Sinclair is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and a drug free workplace.
